So reading reports in the papers the past few days about people queuing for hours for a fucking energy drink called "Prime". Even reports of fights breaking out in some stores. Apparently a collaboration between a couple of non descript you tubers. It sells for £1.99 but I have seen it on sale at one of my local shops for £6.99 a bottle. Who in their right minds buys a bottle of energy drink for £6.99 apart from stupid gullible kids just because it seems to be in fashion. People even seem to be selling empty bottles on E Bay ffs. Young people of today must have more money than sense.

First I heard of this drink was a few weeks back on the nextdoor app.  Some numpty transferred money to a random person to have the drinks delivered to their door.  :dash:

Buy a few bottles, keep them refrigerated or 9-12 months.
Flip them for profit in a year.

From what I read it isn't even an energy drink

Old farts like me, find it hard to understand why some people feel the need to buy bottles of water.
I pay enough for the tasteless stuff that comes out of my tap thanks very much.

So I guess it’s no surprise to read about so called energy drinks being fought over.

Recession. What fucking recession?

You become desensitised to how awful tap water tastes.

Many, many years ago I decided to only use bottled water for drinking and cooking.

A few years after that I left a bottle of water by the sink that had been filled with tap water to top up the car windscreen washer reservoir. Inadvertently, I used this to fill the kettle.

I was drinking my tea and thinking WTF, the cup must have been bleached? I washed the cup and tried again, same result.

Then it dawned on me, it was the chlorine in the tap water.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work the other way. If you are used to drinking tap water, you won't be able to detect the lack of chlorine and chemicals in bottled water.

I've tried them all, the best water for use in a kettle is Tesco Ashbeck Spring, it leaves no scale. Tesco Elmhurst on the other hand leaves a huge amount of scale.

You should try the tap water in Scotland, it’s great. The company that provides the tap water is called Scottish Water and they are owed by the Government, so have no shareholders to cut cost for.

I have visited Scotland frequently in the past and have noticed how much better the tap water is compared to what we get in the midlands.

Quite so. I guess the world has always had more than its fair share of morons, but when I was young they had no money.

Yorkshire Water is great too.  I lived in the Severn Trent area for a while and that wasn't nice at all.

It's obviously impossible to generalise about tap water. It will vary according to the location and supplier.

Nothing wrong with tap water in Cambridge.

It would be illuminating to learn of variation in per-capita sales of bottled water according to region but I doubt if such information is readily accessible..

Scale formation tendency has nothing to do  with perceived taste of chlorine. Moreover, water  with a high mineral content and hence more scale prone is accepted as more beneficial to health.

One thing in common is that all water companies (including Scottish Water) add chlorine. If you've grown up with this chemical being in your water supply, you have become completely desensitised to it.

Trust me, until you've stopped drinking it for a period of time you won't notice how bad it tastes.

If, as you postulate, you're desensitised to it  (by which I assume you mean you can't notice it) then why bother wasting money and contributing greatly to environmental pollution by buying water in plastic or even glass bottles ?

Less than 500 ppb of inorganic chlorine is not a health hazard; just the reverse as it ensures nearly 100% biological sterility.

Somebody on facebook market-place was offering a pallet of these energy drinks, and wanted to swap the pallet for a 3-bedroomed detached-house. I think he was joking.

I'm in the Thames Valley water area, and the water here is terrible.

What about people buying a house over the internet without even physically viewing first.
And idiots who get scammed over the internet without even ever meeting the person!
