Tipping the maid

Reviews of £40 pump and dump Soho brothel girls and some sauna/massage places often mention tipping the maid a few quid.
Is tipping the maid expected in more "exclusive" brothels where one might pay more normal rates like £150 - £250 an hour?
I don't generally use brothels, but have been to a couple of specialist establishments and never tipped the maid. Might be visiting one again soon and it's just occurred to me that perhaps I ought to have been doing so.
Last place I went I just saw myself out after the fun was over. But other times the girl pressed a remote door bell, and the maid would appear and walk me to the door, get my coat for me etc and make small talk whilst putting my shoes on and see me off with a knowing "If you need us again, you know where we are".
Was she expecting a few quid? And how much is appropriate?
That said I went back a few times, always the same routine but if she was annoyed I never tipped she never showed it.

I've only been to a Soho walk up once, a very long time ago, well before I knew about UKP. Tipping the maid is part of the business structure/etiquette in those walk up establishments and the WG asked me for a couple of pounds for her maid, I was slightly surprised but I complied and gave her a £2 coin to give to her maid. Reading recent reviews it's interesting to see that the tip hasn't been subject to inflation in 10+ years.

I can't speak on sauna/massage places.

I can confidently say that tipping the maid is not done at higher end establishments, so don't worry about it.

Only ever tipped maids in the Soho walk-ups over the years.  Couple of quid was the norm even 20 yrs back.  Don't recall tipping at The Cottage or Les Girls  though but my memory probably fails me.

Never tipped the admins in parlours and flats with mamasans.  Took time to be friendly with some and that got some consideration about time and early word on new talent and performance.
