Yes i've been telling people for years that peanuts aren't nuts and mainly getting the reaction of "Fuck off" or "So why are they called nuts then".

I knew that peanuts aren't nuts, but in the American South they were called "Goober peas", so I imagined they grew in a similar way to normal peas!

On the subject of peanuts, if you ever get one stuck in your ear the best way to get it out is to pour some chocolate down your ear and it will come out a treat

I was surprised to discover
1) that having a criminal conviction is not a bar to being a policeman in UK
2) there is apparently no centrally stored total for the numbers of serving police with criminal records
3) the Met has 266 serving officers with criminal records
4) between 2018 and 2023 over 150 serving Met officers were convicted and 66 were in the process of being prosecuted 

I wasnt surprised that most Met Officers convicted either resigned or were dismissed  but I was absolutely astonished that one officer convicted of burglary was given a final written warning !

Ruth Ellis, the last woman to face the death penalty in England has had a pardon granted to her by KC3, this does not mean she is innocent of the crime, but it replaces the death penalty with life imprisonment.

I believe the family may have been putting pressure on, there was a comment about her being a victim of domestic violence which wasn't treated in the same way back then

Presumably to recognise the impact of domestic violence on her mental health and actions, and to give a nod that it would have been a mitigating factor if the case had come to trial 70 years later. Her family say the are greatly comforted by this result.

But how many 1000's of other cases are also worthy of a review given how the modern way of living and "Morals" etc are drastically different 

It basically boils down to the fact that most families just want to forget about it rather than start some sort of campaign plus hers was particularly high profile and did end in changing the law on capital punishment

I tried that once but my ear was already clogged with jelly, custard and cream. I'm a trifle deaf.
