Seems like a nice policy. Positive discrimination that doesn’t rule against people with better skills.
I believe Aldi also have a policy of hiring incredibly fat ugly people.

But personally I shop at Tescos. More expensive. Less fat ugly people but that’s not why I shop there. I like their brands. The snottily superior “Tescos finest”. Guaranteed not to have gone off by the time you get home. And less fat ugly people. (Just kidding).
I used to shop at Tesco all the time, the finest range really is not that good in general , stopped for a few reasons, one of which was discovering the chicken being washed and repackaged by that dodgy processor was sale or return from Lidl, and destined for Tesco.
Tesco have long used buying power to dictate the price they pay to farmers and processers, competition in the market may have changed that somewhat, another reason I will not use them is the Aldi price match, basically saying we have mugged you for years

Lidl and Aldi have also forced Tesco to pay a living wage, they really are not so great if you look into them. The amount of food they were dumping instead of sending to needy causes, exposed by activists, should not have needed others to force them into it.
