Good day my fellow punters in the Principality.
At the beginning of July I will be travelling into the wilds of Wales on a short business trip and I was wondering if there was any punting advice, or any recommendations, that could be forthcoming from the wily punters of Wales?
The plan is for me to drive along the M4 corridor across the Severn Bridge and into Wales all the way to Carmarthen, stay 2 nights in Carmarthen with pretty much the whole of the first day taken up with meetings, then travel back along the M4 and home. I will have some time to spare on my way to Carmarthen for a short interlude, possibly a chance for a little fun in or around Carmarthen on the evening after my day of meetings - I will probably be in need of some 'relief' by then - and there is room/time for another interlude on my way back home. So, afternoon/evening of day 1, evening of day 2, and morning/lunchtime of day 3.
Never having attempted punting in Wales before - have always previously travelled 'en famille' - and looking through the options on AW and on here, it would seem that it is a bit of a punting desert. Are there any areas that I should avoid? and are there any recommendations that any of you can make that will enable me to 'enjoy' my little visit. On previous business trips I have found that asking for a little local knowledge has been most helpful - notably my recent trips to the fair city of Newcastle!
I look forward to hearing from any of you who feel able to assist me in my quest and will ensure that I review once thr trip is completed.
Many thanks in advance.
