Author Topic: 4g phone sim to 5g phone sim  (Read 944 times)

Offline donnybob

I have today decided to change the sim on my phone but still keep my old number, during the online chat, they mentioned my new sim was 5g.

my current phone is a 4g samsung a41 which I chose for the battery life and the great photos with 48 mp

it currently has a smashed screen so i am thinking of buying a 5g phone, and hopefully still have great battery life and still have 48 mp on my camera

my simple question is what does 5g give me that 4g doesnt ?

5G is much faster than 4G, also it provides much lower latency which will improve the quality of internet telephony services.
Low latency also improves online gaming performance.  The speed makes it possible to download a movie in a few seconds rather than a few minutes.

I've been on 5G for over a year now, though can only recall one or two instances when I had a 5G service.

If you're doing calls and emails, you're not going to notice any difference with 5G.

I noticed yesterday that a Japanese consortium are already drawing up the specs for 6G

If there is 5G coverage, only IF there is, otherwise it will go down to 4G anyway.

5G suppose to be faster in downloading and uploading, multitask like browsing the Internet and watching YouTube or online gaming and etc.

Personally I am using 5G Samsung Fold 3 personal phone and 4G Huawei Mate 20 Pro punting phone, 5G is quicker most of the times, but I always felt its just a newer phone rather than 5G while using mobile Internet.

But then, when it's home Internet, it seems much quicker.

I thought the answer was very simple, it gets you 1 more G, mind I don't know what a G is so I might have to Google that.   :unknown:    :D

My phone keeps swapping from Wifi calls to 4 G but it still does everything I want it to.

I didn’t mean it as a criticism, more so that you’d get an immediate answer from Google etc

It's because we are men. A bit like when we assemble flat pack furniture.  No need to look at the instructions on how to do we just do  it then if get stuck then we'll look at the instructions   :D
