Bit worrying, transmitted through skin to skin contact.
I think I'll give punting a break for a bit and just give the wife a more regular pounding.

It's a gay problem.

It's a gay problem.

Oh OK same as HIV and aids then.🙄🙄🙄

Offline Greenbloke

It's not specifically a gay problem at all as its spread through skin contact. Even if it was a gay problem how many men who use working girls are bi? Quite a few I wouldn't wonder.

It's a gay problem.

I can't imagine anyone being very happy at contracting it.

Straight people can't catch it then?
Clever virus.

Guess more worrying what is the contagious and incubation point, and at some time, does this become like covid, so insted of wearing masks, we get told to wear gloves

So if your married, this might be harder to explain a way, and possible you would pass this on to the kids

So punter A goes to see an escort, but punter A dosnt yet know he has monkey pox.  Over the next few weeks, this escorts see a number of punters, and soon the escort finds out she has monkey pox as well, as do all the punters who have seen her in the last week

I always try trusted sources about these things, and found this: External Link/Members Only.

Specifically:
"Monkeypox can also spread from person to person through:

touching clothing, bedding or towels used by someone with the monkeypox rash
touching monkeypox skin blisters or scabs (including during sex)
the coughs or sneezes of a person with the monkeypox rash"

So, it would have to be pretty selective to be a gay thing. The third method for catching it person to person gives one a get out clause with the missus, but, after finally being in a position to go punting, this comes up. Although it isn't particulary dangerous, I am sitting it out...

There is a vaccination, so I am going to inquire into getting one before re-engaging said hobby..

Getting jabbed for it is probably a bit overkill. There a few hundred cases in a population of 70 million which is nothing.
Key difference with covid seems to be it doesn't kill you quite as easily, so thats something I guess...

True, but now there are c. 300 in England, and my guess is it will be in more populated areas, where I am likely to punt, and the cases are going to rise. I would rather not have to explain where I got it..

You're right in that the majority of those cases are in London and city areas etc.
Yeah, hadn't thought about explaining it lol, that might be tricky in certain situations.
One thing with monkey pox though is it should be fairly obvious if someone has a rash or not from it, so at least a visible indication.
