Another report on what is happening around the Marbella/Puerto Banus area having been there for most of March. To get to Marbella you fly to Malaga which has lots of direct flights from almost every UK airport. Marbella is about 35 miles west of the airport. There are numerous car hire companies and endless taxis available. Another alternative is stay in Malaga city itself. It's a much underrated city (especially the old town) as opposed to Barcelona which in my opinion is much overrated. It has its own beach area and links to the bucket and spade resorts nearby.
