Yes good they are safe. I think more secure checks need to be done on pilots. Be it mental health, Terrorism links etc.
More tracking on their phones etc.

These pilots are in charge of hundreds of lives, yet if they decide one day to flip, those innocents are dead.
Maybe live monitoring of the cockpit.

Iran ovs have terror link on planes in the middle east, so security does need to be tighter there and do more checks on all pilots.

Having spent most of my life flying, still doing it now, I can tell you no security is totally bulletproof.  I've spent nights in various cells (don't recommend Vegas on a Friday night or Turkey or Hungary any night of the week) because clients have managed to get contraband onboard from less risky large quantities of luxury watches to drugs and in one case a firearm. All you need is enough money to get past the least well paid security guard. 

More pilots = more people to check.

I also missed one other critical point. 
Global shortage of pilots. Now imagine needing twice the number!
Less and less are going the route I did and get trained for free by the military and if you do it outside it'll cost you between £90k and £120k and a hope theres a way to recoup that from a job at the end.  Some airlines have bursaries and training schemes but you're bonded to them for a few years and there aren't enough flying schools so seats on those courses are very highly contested. 

But hey you know, knee jerk and fuck it up even more eh. Seems another sensible move.

Takes time. Rubbish Net zero was announced towards end of 2019. Which we then had the planned pandemic to cut emissions.

JLR was doing well, but as the deadline to drive these rubbish washing machines approach and the cheap Chinese crap has entered the market. The downfall has started after that.
Net Zero opened the way for chines rubbish to flood UK markets. As they have slowly flooded it, other manufacturers have lost sales. Also penalties from the useless government.

Tories and Reform were going to relax net zero, Labour scum not.

All has a knock on effect to Jobs, less sales means local people in the JLR supply chain loosing jobs.
Net zero is the downfall of Europe. All it has allowed is cheap chines cars to flood the market and get sales the Europeans had.

Without it, lovely 320d would still be selling like hotcakes and focus and fiestas.
