Exactly  :hi:
Its Burnham's version of levelling up

It helps distribute future labour voters far & wide more even coverage
& spreads the effluent to the affluent

Rape & sexual assault are in migrant DNA
Its not specifically their fault - its the environment which they are brought up in - its the norm where they come from not even considered a crime
Hence the need for the leaflets well done AB  :hi:

One would hope that some would think this really isn't right but sadly this falls on deaf ears & into deaf brains

A fifth less people seeking asylum than last year

Falls also in legal migration and small boat arrivals.

But as those facts do not support your agenda I assume you will ignore them.  More to do but the Government is starting to get a grip.

He does these idiotic things that make no difference or change anything as far as the rest of the world is concerned. Only his supporters would think it makes some kind of sense. 😀

Because having been in power for weeks he will have had an impact on the figures for the year ended June 26. Grow up.

Of course he has an impact. If there are 16,000 fewer illegal immigrants in hotels, then they must be housed elsewhere, and Burnham has stated that he wants them spread far and wide. Given that the Home Office know these people are more likely to commit rape and sexual assault than anybody else, this seems a curious approach.

Online bigden40

Which is a good thing as the cost of HMO accommodation is significantly less to the taxpayer than hotels. Note however

"Reliance on hotels started to slowly decline from the end of 2023. Between 31 March 2023 and 31 March 2026, the number of asylum seekers requiring accommodation support fell by 13%, from 112,000 to 98,000, reflecting a reduction in the asylum backlog. Over the same period, the share of asylum seekers housed in hotels fell from 42% to 21%. This suggests that the decline in hotel use was driven both by lower overall demand for accommodation support and by a shift towards dispersal accommodation."

External Link/Members Only

Whilst true, both hotel and HMO accomodation assume a bias toward a need to long-term accommodate these asylum seekers.  This is not what the general public wants, hence the long-term tension between government and electorate.

Bit of a rock and a hard place though isn't it (and one that I knew would happen) whereby there's outrage about asylum seekers being put in hotels and the cost of it but then when they're moved elsewhere there's outrage about them being put in houses.

I'm just pleased that the numbers are finally going down but as usual the masses and mass hysteria seem to think that a new Govt or new leader should mean that they suddenly wake up the morning after and there are now zero asylum seekers  :dash:

The problem was allowed to get out of hand under the Tories but Labour are actually doing something about it, does more need to be done, yes a lot more but you have to start somewhere and then ramp it up

Meanwhile in other news the Greens (about as left wing as you can get on the ballot paper yet fuckwits being interviewed recently ahead of elections were saying they were going to vote either Green or Reform who are as right wing as we currently have   :dash:) want to put a block albeit temporary on new data centres.

Clearly data centres are part of the way things are going and are a key part of the future so understandably these backward wankers want to stop it and hold our economy back  :dash:

I would agree that it makes sense to use brownfield sites and places which are close to where renewable energy is created, also if they are using so much water it's presumably being used to cool things down and then discharged to drain  :unknown: Why don't these systems reuse the same water in a closed loop with some sort of reservoir to store it while it cools  :unknown:

Not sure how to put this any clearer. The numbers I quoted are for the year ended 30 June 2026 which is before Burnham became PM.

It was the right who wanted them out of hotels, the same people who seem to now complain about that.

Putting Asylum seekers in old military bases makes sense to me - why pay Hotels to house them when you have already paid for the bases to be built? They also have security measures ready built in, should they be needed. The objections to bases being used is down to basic nimbyism, while those objecting hold their noses to adopt far right rhetoric for justification.

Yes it does make sense but we've previously been told that it wasn't cost effective but now it suddenly is  :unknown:

I also recall about 10 years ago they were going to house them in old military barracks but weren't allowed to as they weren't considered fit for human habitation, yet our military families had been using them a couple of years before

Given that these people will have been sleeping rough on a beach in France and potentially doing similar for a couple of years through Europe and Africa / the ME to get there i'm not sure why they suddenly need much more than a tent to keep the rain off  :unknown:

My point being that if they know it's going to be shit when they get here then it hopefully acts as a deterrant  :hi:

We were given the "economically viable" guff by the Tories to justify giving their friends in hospitality large chunks of public money in exchange for donations. I doubt we'll ever get the true costings, public procurement contracts are well know for being grossly over inflated - quote for using the best products, then use the cheap equivelent and trouser the difference.
I'm not sure about the detterrence factor - even a basic barrack block must be better than the roadside in France - but compared to a hotel room or HMO then maybe it will put a few off. That'll take time too - word will have to get round that living conditions won't live up to expectations. Maybe the Government should engage in some negative publicity - send round photo's of what they will get  :unknown:

Tell us you dont understand downward trend by not saying you dont understand downward trend.  Yeah some have been moved but numbers coming in are down and those being processed and removed has increased too.
It was most likely started by Sunak but has continued subsequently.  Amazing what grown ups, starting with Sunak, can do after the clusterfuck of their predecessors.  Unlikely you'll give Sunak credit though Im sure as he's a bit too brown for your type.

Where have I said I didn't trust official UK figures? The government refuses to release the data, the information commissioner told them to release the data, but they refused and are going to court to prevent the British public knowing the truth. If the data shows no higher proportion of foreign offenders committing sexual offences, then why not release the data and prove us wrong?

So then you go off on a diversionary tactic, because you can't refute the Danish governments own data, pretty embarrassing for you tbh.

Yes I do think there is a genuine will from many in Labour to stop it, certainly those who still have clarity of thought who basically know the failure to deal with it is what's boosted Reforms support and lost them a lot of what was once considered their "core voters".

The problem with the Labour party however is that there are too many blinkered SJW types which is what did for Starmer voting against benefit reforms.

I recon the Tories now also take it seriously having been kicked out of power and with no realistic chance of getting back in on the horizon
