I'm increasingly warming to Andy Burnham.  Here – from a report in today's Times – is another big and important issue on which he has firmly taken the right side (an issue on which Sir Keir Starmer was weak and vacillating):

Andy Burnham is poised to announce “robust” sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank despite warnings they could spiral into a “de facto boycott” of the country.

The prime minister wants to strengthen the government’s approach in response to Israeli plans to open tenders for the construction of 1,200 settler homes.

Ed Miliband, the foreign secretary, said Israel’s plans would effectively cut the West Bank in two and destroy any hope of a two-state solution.

A senior government source told the Times that Burnham wanted to take a far more “robust” position than his predecessor Sir Keir Starmer. The source expected him to approve plans for a trade ban on Israeli settlements and the sanctioning of individuals.

Surely not even the most committed Zionist can condone the way Israelis are stealing land that is not theirs and the way the state of Israel is actively encouraging it?

Why do people on this forum mention trolling when they don't agree with someone's views. I have a view that Iran etc are dangerous and agree with Trump and the right wing. Yet people dont agree just accuse of trolling.

They are being moved to military barracks instead of hotels. As you say the numbers of dinghy arrivals so far this year are down on last year, but the same as 2024.
