The Lidls over here in N Ireland are a bit different. Very rarely find any ale, even in bottles.    :(

Must be different up North too, spoilt for choice here, during lockdown they bought all the stock meant for pubs, even bigger choice.

The own brand " Heatherwood "  are ok, priced on strength too, so the lighter ones are really cheap. Though the most expensive ale is 1.49, I like an old Courage one, Directors, or Marstons Pedigree. It always tastes better from bottles rather than cans.

I once had London Pride, pulled through Lager pumps and coolers on an old Fire Engine at a car show, could have drunk it all day.  :yahoo:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a major classic film.

I know, I'm talking about the cafe in Harrods, went there for breakfast once. I remember the bill being close to 120 pounds for 2 of us and I could only choose 1 of the fancy pastries and 1 main breakfast dish. What a rip off.

Debenhams had food cafes, overpriced fish & chips.
M&S you can sit and have a coffee with the pensioners, nice place.
Years ago places like C&A I think had a decent cafeteria with big portions of food.
Maybe pre covid other stores will start joining up with other business similar to Primark.

The food is expensive but tea is only 90p.The Students will all be wearing the logo tops be successful.

And the middle-class ones will be wearing them ironically.

Like SJWs in America wear John Deere baseball caps.

I honestly think people don't expect it to be good and then there is the myth of choice. Greggs is everywhere, usually three within walking distance in cities and big towns. There's more Greggs than KFC. Honestly, I've not been in one for donkeys, but it was ok last time. Nobody expects great coffee and the best thing since granary artisanal sliced bread.

With Primark it fills a gap. It is really difficult to buy clothes even more so if you are a man over 30 and on a budget. I buy most clothes online. With Primark it's a case of being everywhere especially since Arcadia have closed.

Only really go in there for household bits now, even then not as good as it once was. Bought some good stuff from there clothing wise in the past, but most of it seems to be their own brands; could just be the store itself. I have the double whammy of having big feet, but being tall, but not round which means limited choice in shoes and most tops are like a tent, but too short in the arms.

Same here - I used to buy a fair few items of clothing, and most of my toiletries in there, but those days are long gone.

The "Too Good To Go" app always has stuff from Greggs, Costa and Starbucks on it round my way.

You basically get a "Lucky Bag" of pies, pastries, sarnies etc with a notional value of about a tenner for a few quid.  I often get a bag on a Friday evening so we have something for brekkie or lunch on Saturday.

I know its not exactly health food but once in a while is okay and it's a noble cause to tackle food waste.
