Greggs pies and pasties etc are cheap shit in terms of quality, just another example of a brand that appears to have gained almost Cult status in the last few years but I have no idea why.
Perhaps it's not over priced compared to some other outlets and you have to bear in mind they have to pay out for wages / rent / rates etc in the high street / city centre etc so while I agree with the poster about buying a loaf for 60p and a pack of bacon etc (which is what i'd do) I guess their overheads are relatively high.
I find all the sandwiches / panini's / baguettes etc are tasteless shit in all of these outlets though and normally priced more expensive than Greggs too, I did actually get a Greggs breakfast baguette a few months ago while visiting somewhere and at least it was tasty to eat.
Costa coffee food is awful, many times i've been away on business and decided to go hungry rather than eat that shite, better to wait another few hours to get home and eat then.
Anyway it doesn't surprise me that Greggs are teaming up with Primark as I believe they have a reputation for being cheap / chavvy / wear once and throw away etc.
Will keep an eye out for chavvy Blackpool slappers walking down the Prom with Greggs logo hoodies eating their pies and pasties, pure class this place
