Please help first time punter from India

Gentlemen,

Intro - dude in his 40s, missing the GFE he used to get in his 20/30s. Never paid for a punt before. (Is that even right - is the very nature of a "punt" paid?). Never been tempted for a punt in Mumbai because it's illegal, dangerous and filthy to put it mildly.

India is no longer a third world country, but a second world country. It has an enormous well educated middle class fluid English. Culturally, they are also globally modern.

Many of them have better English than UK born Londoners of all heritages.

I see no English 'slang' in the OP that makes him sound like 'Del Boy'.

Many high end TEFL courses will teachi English slang. I worked in the sector for a while and know of cases where the tutor would use The Sun for this purpose.

I was born in India myself but studied Arts at Uni here, a large part of which included linguistics.

Mumbai scene - I said it's illegal, dangerous and filthy, not just filthy. My main problem is the illegal/unregulated bit. As for the filth, I've heard first hand, and there are plenty of anecdotes on reddit.

Greedy for more intel - fair enough. I didn't mean it to sound that way, and maybe I was looking for some reassurance when it wasn't necessary.
