Author Topic: So why do we get bored?  (Read 2003 times)

Offline Hobbit

Lately, I've been finding that after seeing a girl three or four times I start to feel bored and desire to see someone else. An example of this is a SB that I have been seeing for the past few months and even though she hasn't done anything wrong and the sex is reasonably okay and pretty good sometimes, I still feel bored and now I am looking to see someone else.

I understand that there are some guys here that will see just one regular for years to come and nobody else and that's great for them and I was like that many years ago but nowadays I just need a bit of variety but I don't understand why.

So my question is, do most of you experience the same issue of boredom after a few goes and if so, what is it that you think makes us want to see different girls rather than sticking to just one? Is it a human biological thing that we men have or is it some kind of issue of not being able to control the desires of the mind?

Human biology, the need to spread your genes.

Human biology, the need to spread your genes.

If it is human biology then why do people get married? If our need to spread our genes is a cause of nature then it makes marriage pointless.

Marriage has always been about locking the female into monogamy thus increasing the chances that those kids you spend all your time and money raising are actually yours :)

Hence straying wives always got it in the neck while husbands played the field.

It is only in the last 50 years or so of human history (and then only in the developed world) that women have come to have equal and often greater rights in marital disputes...

But why would one want their own children if they want to play the field? It sounds contradictory to me. If men were designed to populate the world and not stick with one girl, then the concept of "my own children" is redundant.

Very good question. Like you I normally stick with one regular but after a few months find myself looking around. I then fuck a few new/different SBs before returning to the regular. Often the sex with a regular is so much ‘better’ and I often ask myself why do I bother chasing fresh pussy? Maybe my brain and/or cock thinks I might find someone better?

Offline bdyno

I do both (although I haven't really got back into the swing of things lately).  For me, seeing a regular and seeing someone new are such different experiences, both great in their own way, that in the past I've always tried to alternate between the two.

I've had the same experience in the past where I have left a regular for someone else and then gone back thinking why did I do that because like you said the sex with a regular can be much better as long as a regular doesn't become complacent.

Agree and why men can have kids for so long. Plus it's fun!

Marriage has nothing to do with it. How many married men would like to get with a new hot girl if they could. Whether the wife would find out or not the desire is there.

I like to see new SP and rotation of regulars.  No SP are the same or similar enough, the real joy and satisfaction comes from new sex partner.  Its normal to get bored quickly.

I agree, never been married but have had multiple girlfriends over the years, never been faithful.
I see marriage as “religious” suppressant of human biology. It’s not natural for men to stay with one partner.
Women select men for “security” and being able to provide.
Men don’t really think, just “I fancy a bit of that”
Prossie / Punter “relationship” is very much in line with human nature, more so then marriage.

Maybe you get bored as there is no other connection apart from the sex and you are also paying for it, which makes it a transaction.  If she was with you because she wanted to be and not paid to be, it might be a totally different ball game.

But nothing. People want their own children because they want to create a genetic legacy of themselves and their lineage.

Monogamy is supposed to be for the good of the community as straying between married couples will likely create conflict that harms the community. When a straying wife gets pregnant by another man, her reproductive access to her husband is locked out for 9 months unless she miscarries. When a straying husband has sex, his reproductive access to his wife is only locked out until he can get it up again. The reproductive consequences of sex differ for men and women.

Not sure about that. The last thing this world needs is more Hobbits.  :D

I don't think your uncertainty is relevant to the reality that many people think their genes are so remarkable that they should be passed on.

I don't get bored.

Oh really? You still have not told us who the WG who ripped your heart out was so we can know to avoid her. Neither have you outlined how you will help yourself move forward but you don't get bored? So which is it?  :dash:.

Societal ideological constructs. There are plenty examples of situations throughout history and even in the present times where in terms of resources of "all of nothing" environments, the men that "have" end up with a harem and the men who do not have get nothing. If it were not for ideological paradigms in particular societies like western society we would be just like other animal packs where the top of the pack get everything and the losers get nothing, there would be no marriage then; only polygamous relationships where one man gets multiple women I reckon. Personally I think that marriage in the past was more of a business transaction to benefit both parties involved anyway, not love and lets have kids together because we love each other so much. I think that idea of marrying for love has come due to the "romanticizing" of marriage in the last 100 years.

I think there’s an element of addiction to punting- chasing the high of a new meet with a new girl that isn’t there when seeing a regular.
There’s the excitement of the unknown that gets the adrenaline going.
The down side is often the new girl is shit and not as good as the regular.
So then that initial high of the first meet / chase is counteracted by the low of the shit punt.
If you get the high of a new punt that is actually good it strengthens the desire to chase another new high punt, whereas the low from a shit punt send you scurrying back to the regular for comfort.
A situation I am currently in - two not great new punts and I’m gagging to go see my regular for a guaranteed good time

It goes back far further than the last 100 years. At least the last 2,000 in fact. Anyone with even the vaguest knowledge of history has heard of Caesar and later Antony and Cleopatra.

True, marriage - for the noble classes anyhow - was driven by dynastic and political convenience. But the word "romance" is linked with the area and language of the romance region of southern France, with its troubadours, about 800 years ago.

I assume his point was that romanticizing marriage is just about all you can do to sell it to men in western society today and absolutely nothing to do with the etymology of the word "romance".

You could throw romance into marriage in Western cultures for centuries but romance was secondary to the Church governing the marriage at the time. As Christianity looked down upon sex before marriage far more severely a few decades ago than today, people "had" to marry to have sex. Now that the Church's authority is lessened and that it isn't the sole governance of marriage, there is less incentive to marry today than 100 years ago. Especially if you are not devout or religious at all, marriage no longer has an exclusive hold on having sex as you can have sex outside of marriage today with less of a chance of being cast out.

Anyone with the vaguest knowledge of history knows that Christianity had influenced the UK a great deal over the past 1,000+ years.

You're trying to read too much into that. It is just the drive of ANY living being, be it a small cell, to reproduce or multiply, not make it easier for other organisms to do it in their stead. As simple as that.

If you restrict yourself to a strictly sexual interaction then i guess it will get boring quickly , sex only keeps us interested up to a point , if you want a girl to completely monopolise your interest and make you lose interest in seeing other women maybe you need to try and find a girl who engages you not only sexually but also on a personal level, psycologically and sympathetically on a human to human basis ,   Aka try an emotional attachment , much disapproved of on here obviously , but so long as you keep your head on straight and you actually find a nice honest girl emotional attachment can be next level punting, if thats what your looking for , which it sounds like it is.

Offline standardpostage

I think that any repetition eventually gets boring.

Having the same meal, seeing the same film, reading the same book, doing the same walking route, doing the same job, playing the same game e.g. Monopoly. Going to the same restaurant. Wearing the same clothes. Using the same after shave. Shagging the same bird, etc, etc.

Variety is the spice of life, as they say.

Yes, that's correct in what I was saying. Thank you for clarifying before I saw his post.
