Author Topic: Avoiding passport stamps when visiting Chech republic,?  (Read 2923 times)

Brief internet search suggests passports may be stamped upon visiting the Chech republic. Been debating a day trip with a specific rendezvous in mind but don't want it advertised on the passport upon my return to the UK.

Is the only option to try and entice the other party to the UK or is there some other way to avoid nosey eyes seeing what I've been up to?

This seems the obvious solution but wasnt sure of it would have any significant ramifications when the passport is next used.

Cometely illegal.  Try getting through immigration with a passport you've ripped pages out of and you'll have lots of fun.

I know someone who’s done this and been through immigration loads of times and never been sussed

Why not, think what ever EU country you go to, passport control will stamp your passport, like with me, going to Italy, Italian passport control stamped my passport

Yes, because you're entering from a foreign country.

Nightmare, I’ll be running out of pages in my passport

If it's only a one-off trip to Czech, then on your return pretend you've lost your passport and apply for a new one.

Pretending the passport is lost would throw up as much suspicion for she who must be obeyed as an unusual business trip to the Chech republic....seems I will have to try and get the rendezvous venue shifted to the UK.

Just drop the passport into water, reapply for a new one as old one has water damage, I did it when I met a new partner and I didnt want her seeing my Thai immigration stamps.
Do not under any circumstances rip pages out

EU countries are now meant to stamp UK passports. However, mine was not stamped on a recent Germany trip.

There is a new system that is supposed to launch next year and as a result UK passport holders will likely be able to use passport gates again.

I’ve just got back from France and got stamps in and out.

I would say, this would be a one of thing, as if you were doing it, one one or more occasions, the passport office, might start asking, why is he/she doing this

Some interesting comments on here...

If you claim to have lost your passport and get another, the original is blocked for ever and if someone tries to use it then a long chat with border personnel will take place.

Any lost or stolen passports normally require a police report.

A replacement for water damage would work once, maybe twice then questions will be asked.

And as for ripping a page out!!! You will be found out eventually and again an interesting chat will take place. Remember every time you present your passport a record is kept so it wouldn't take long for the missing stamps to be worked out.

Mislaid mine once and panicked, found it a few days later. Problem being I was in Budapest and had already been to the embassy so I couldn't continue to use the old passport, several pages and the cover have a corner cut off before receiving your new passport. I was allowed to keep the mislaid passport.

It's pretty common for people who have to travel on business trips to the Middle East (I currently hold two UK passports for this reason). You really don't want to show up in Saudi Arabia with an Israeli stamp in your passport, for example. It's actually not that difficult to apply for, but it's not publicised for obvious reasons, and needs a signed letter from your employer to justify the application. The original comment was obviously made tongue-in-cheek, but "burner" passports are a real thing (just not normally for punting!).

Rip the page out of your passport?

I will be extremely careful about this,You might even get more problem. Every passport has page on it, so the missing pages will be noticed.
If you have not got caught it does not mean you will not get caught in the next trip.

Taking this to an extreme level you could have three passports and never pay any tax. I knew Harry Schultz who invented the concept of being a perpetual traveler when he lived next door to Mick and Jerry Jagger on Cheyne Walk in London.

So your going through passport control, and think wont take long to get through.  The ripped out page is notice, and they now take you aside, ask questions and double check the passport.  This has been going on now for around 1 hr, and there still not finished, and ask more questions
