That would be a Queen song.

Can't say I never got the popularity of Quo but tbh they seemed minimally talented to me in an era of great pop music.

Like the Rolling Stones a group that seems to have been around forever. Not many of the original band left now since the demise of Rick Parfitt a few years ago. I think there was a bit of a rift between Rossi and Parfitt in the bands later years. I thought they weren't a bad live band at their peak popularity. Opened the live aid concert at Wembly back in the 80's with Rockin all over the world.

Terrific band to see live in their pomp.

Some of their 70s to early 80's music with the original members were great rock anthems. I think Alan did not like the musical direction Quo were going during the 80's and went to live in Australia. My interest in Quo also faded away after he left as their output was not like their earlier records. It was nice to see him back in the band for a documentary shown about 6 years ago. He looked happy with the other guys and am glad things were reconciled.

I think you have to be of a certain vintage to appreciate Quo in their waistcoated Telecaster prime, of which he was integral, as the obituaries state.  Not bad when you consider their 60s material which looked pretty destined to rank as pop oddities.

I remember seeing him on some TV programme saying 'Marguerita Time' was pretty much why he called it quits.

(my brother went to his and Rossi's school and they're the most famous product of it)
