Meet didn't happen. Got hassled by someone living in the same flats before going in.

I thought this would be a safe punt as Sue has got a lot of feedback on here and Adultwork. Comms were good, a few texts to a arrange a meet. £90 for 30 minutes. It was when the text came through with the final details that it all went pear shaped.

Headed over to the flat. It's in the the centre of Bristol. Put my brolly down and walked up the steps to be buzzed in and a man with a dog appeared behind me and asked me what I was doing :scare:. I said he could go in first but then he started saying if I gave him a name, he'd take me up to the flat. Confusion sets in. I thought maybe he's the handler but surely not. Most likely a disgruntled neighbour :unknown:. Feigned ignorance at this point and said I was just waiting for someone to come out so we could go for a drink. He wouldn't let up though and kept asking for a name and details. As I didn't give him one, he said it looked suspicious. I started casually walking away at this point but he still kept making a scene and mentioned something about looking for a brothel. Luckily there wasn't anyone walking past.

Looking back I should have told him to mind his own business, but it was such a bizarre, unexpected exchange. I couldn't even do the phone trick as he popped up out of nowhere.

First time anything like this happened in my admittedly short punting career. So a word of warning for anyone wanting to meet her as she's in Bristol until the weekend I think. Maybe she has moved venues now, I don't know. Might be best to give it a miss.

Edited. Was referring to the general area rather than a street.

You could have said the [whatever it is] area. You still can.

Okay, thanks, and that's what I meant. I don't know how to describe it tbh. The street name doubles as a general name for the area I think.

Saying "[whatever street] general area" is fine.

 Noted. Doesn't look like I can edit it now. Let's say it was in the 'Old City' area within walking distance of the Old Vic.

How did the SP handle it when you left? I presume you told her what happened

Yeah, she asked if everything was okay and I relayed to her what went down. She seemed surprised. In the initial text instructions she did say to be particularly quiet and discreet though, which suggests there might have been an issue before, I don't know. I'm sure this sort of thing doesn't usually happen.

Not an experience I've ever had, and I'd say it was a pretty rare one - can't recall anything like that happening being reported on here previously. Appreciate it's easier said than done when put on the spot, but it's best to just ignore busy bodies like that. They rely on the "element of surprise" to try to achieve their goals.

Bottom line is he's got no more moral or legal right to challenge you being there than you have him, and certainly no right to demand details from you. Good to hear you fobbed him him with nothing more than he deserved. Sounds like a control freak with nothing better to do with his life than to lurk.

He also has absolutely NO idea who you are or who you're visiting if you're in a block of flats, he's just playing the odds and hoping he's right. I can only assume he lurks around in view of the keypad to the flats, and when he sees you punch in the right number, he makes his move. Should be pretty easy to confuse him in future by just placing yourself between the keypad from anyone who's hanging around. Maybe posting a general description of him could be useful so that others can easily identify him.

If there's been a disturbance problem there, fair enough, he's free to record comings and goings and send his observation log to the police or council to take action. Other than that he's on dodgy ground and could be reported for harassing people in the street. It's not his right or responsibility to intervene when you're not doing anything illegal.

similar happened to me over a year ago, I thought I was being paranoid so didn't post but this seems very familiar. it was a different girl & flats but the location v. similar only a 200 yards away (verified by OP)

I sensed him approaching from behind, he had been 'on the phone' as I'd clocked him earlier. I turned around I spoke to him first which caught him off guard, then asked a question and spun it around on him claiming I lived there. he hung around for another 20mins, I know because I returned to a position I could watch him from distance.

he didn't come across like he was going to rob me, more like he was interested in getting in the building as he asked what I was doing there. I let the SP know, they had no idea & I genuinely believe that.

be careful chaps.

That's what I thought. I was just caught completely off guard. He seemed to know specifically what I was there for, which was baffling really, and was particularly hostile and forthright. So random for him to be talking about brothels etc.

He was in his early 40s, curly brown hair, shorts and a yellow jacket, with a labrador. After verifying similar info with @Imgh, maybe it's harsh blaming the provider, but this doesn't seem like the best area for a punt.

And to clear up any confusion it was in the Welsh Back area of central Bristol.

Whilst the information is very useful, it does seem rather harsh giving the escort a negative through no real fault of her own. It’s not her fault there’s some stupid escort vigilante hanging around.

I’d like to think if I was in that situation, I’d tell him I’m off to bang an escort and he can go fuck himself. However, with mobile phones and cameras, a cunt like him could cause all sorts of trouble, despite me not doing anything illegal.

Best way to handle him if you don't want to completely ignore him is to turn the focus back on him.
Tell him he's harassing a member of the public, whip out your phone and tell him you're going to take the video to the police as evidence. Be as utterly polite as possible whilst recording his accusations and tell him you've heard many people say he's been lurking around and hassling strangers.
I'll bet he finds a new hobby very quickly.

Hi

Thanks for the info....this is bad news.....this is the same flat that Laura uses.

I was due to see her tomorrow.   :(

Has put me off now, I hope they find a new location, but I am suprised as most of these flats are rents.

Cheers

Initially I thought there was more to it but the info from Imgh suggests it might just be an escort vigilante, which is a bizarre concept but here we are. Maybe I should ask a mod to change it to a neutral.

Sorry to ruin your fun mate. This area always seems quite busy so I always thought it'd hard to be discreet. There are not really any flats tucked away.

I agree it’s a bit unfair to put a negative review due to some weirdo neighbour with nothing better to do. It wouldn’t put me off. There are lots of things you can say: I’m visiting a friend, buying something on Gumtree, or even picking up a jerry can of unleaded petrol  :D

What a strange encounter, I agree a negative review may be a bit harsh since the WG had no say in this nutter approaching you.
But good for warning us all the same. I wonder what this bloke's aim is.

I should note, during the exchange, I walked from the top of the steps to the bottom and he did the opposite. This leads me to think he was someone living in the block of flats who maybe was annoyed at the comings and goings. I didn't stick around to see if he went inside.

Pain in the arse anyway as I go to the pubs and restaurants in this area quite regularly. Not that it really matters, but it's not something that you want to be thinking about.

I’ve no idea if this is the same area but when I saw Fit Sarah, I was sat on a bench outside Asda on the main road, and a guy came out of the pub opposite, crossed the road and confronted me. He asked what I was doing and I asked what business it was of his. He said I looked suspicious and I told him to fuck off and mind his own business (unusually sharp and brave for me, not much of a tough guy) I did take a walk up the road as didn’t want the nob watching me but was an odd experience. 15 mins later I had the booking and just put it down to some drunk being a twat. Was quite unnerving though.

She's gone now. She was supposed to be in Bristol for the rest of the week at the time but didn't see her light on after this. The venue was obviously compromised.

That's in Bedminster on the other side of town centre, but yeah not the best way to prepare for a meet is it. If he came out of a pub, probably just a random drunk.

This guy was literally blocking the front entrance into the flat with his dog. Just though it was best to look disinterested, walk away and try again another day. It's only one punt. Couldn't be bothered with aggro.

I think I would have done the same and walked. Not worth the agro. Mind you, I’d have had to asked him what right he thought he had to ask me such questions.
