Agreed - Pointless and comes across to me as jumping on the current BAME bandwagon and seems like a WOKE fuelled Name & Shame exercise, as is the trending fashion these days - sadly.
It’s up to the SP who she prefers to see from an ethnic or cultural standpoint, or not as the case maybe. i.e. “the management reserve the right to refuse entry”. A proper read of a “current” profile and decent pre-punt comms are all that’s needed in my view.
And for the record, as OP puts it, I am an “ethnic punter”. I do my due diligence, look after my comms, and have never had a problem.
And if proof was ever needed, just look at MangoMan’s track record.
