This review is a summary of several visits done over the last months.
Communication:I book ahead, usually by text. Reply is quick, there is the odd time when it takes about an hour for a reply to arrive, but 5 to 15 minutes response time is more typical.
Parking:I usually park up the hill – one way street system, so you’ll have to drive a bit round the block to get there. If you come by public transport, Sawasdee is at the doorsteps of the Felling Metro Station.
Meena:I’d estimate her 25 to 30 years old, but knowing that I generally underestimate the age of South-East Asian women, end of twenties/early thirties might be more realistic. Small, but not tiny as some of the Thai ladies, with a tattoo on her lower neck/between the shoulder blades, and a pert ass which one (or at least I) is allowed to grope during the final “deed”.
The premises:A lot has been said about the rooms, and I agree that the wall between the two front rooms is thin. Nevertheless, until now I have been lucky, and, yes, it is audible when another customer enters or leaves the adjacent room, but during my visits there has never been noise to such a degree that it would be disruptive or damaging to the experience. And there is a plus side to the rooms: At other massage places, more than once I suffered, because the room wouldn’t warm up, despite the best efforts of the staff, or there was a nasty draft. Maybe I am particularly squeamish about these things, but at Sawasdee, the rooms have always been warm and well heated.
(The word “cocooning” comes to my mind to describe these rooms – but it is always dangerous to use expressions which one has only a limited understanding of.)The Massage:I have the attitude to not interfere too much on how the massage is carried out, and just let the lady adhere to her own personal style. I am sure that if you direct Meena in the one or the other direction, she will adopt. Having said this, if you are looking for one of these *really* strong Thai massages, the ones which leave you gasping for breath in between, Meena might not be your first choice. (I have my go-to “legit” Thai lady if ever I am in the mood for one of these strong massages.) I’d describe Meena’s style as “firm but still relaxing”.
This is not to say that here massage ineffective, not at all! To give an example: I once overdid it at the gym, and, as a result, one of my shoulder muscles was just a giant knot. And she was working well on it, and after the massage, the knot was gone. Also, I have not chronic back-pain, but something like a constant niggle, and a visit to Meena certainly alleviates things greatly.
There will be an initial cleaning of the sole of your feet and your bum crack using wet wipes, there will be a dry massage through a towel, then an oily massage with plenty of underreaches and CC swipes, then the flip over, more massage, then (if you go for it) the “special” with a nice build-up, teasing of the scrotum, not rushed at all. Finally, a few stretches to round things off and a clean-up (hot towels).
Covid precautions:(This section is – hopefully – becoming less and less relevant.) Place is meticulously kept clean, when we were still rather restricted, protocol was followed diligently (temperature taken, face mask, etc.). At the same time, she is not going over the top with it … gloved HRs are for me a mood killer – nothing of this with Meena, fortunately!
