Author Topic: Going to Germany. How to?  (Read 2194 times)

Hi guys, I'm planning on going to Germany next month, just for the weekend. I want to punt but its not my top reason of visiting the country.

I'm there for visiting a racing car convention/exhibition called ADAC Sim Racing Expo. It will be held at the Nurburgring race track. If I'm going with a friend then I won't be punting. If I'm going alone and I got free time, then I'll try some punting and shag some German women.

I wanna ask is how do I find which airport in the UK can take me to German airports? Destination airports can be either Cologne-Bonn, Frankfurt am Main, or Brussels. Birmingham International is the closest airport near where I live.

I'm inexperienced in going abroad and its not something I do often. Last time I went holiday abroad was exactly ten years ago in Barcelona in Spain, that was a fucking shit holiday. How I book my tickets, etc for my last holiday was a friend told me what to do. Not friends with him anymore, we fell out. He is a fucking arsehole. Back on topic...

Another thing I'm worried about is I don't know if I require a shitty little Covid Passport to fly to Germany. I ain't vaccinated. Even if the passport is not required, do I require to self isolate in Germany before flying home or after I get back to UK? How do I find such information?

Cheers gentlemen.

As if people are going to take time out to be your travel agent when this is your attitude to ukpunting  :dash:

I Whoops. There's a few more women I visited but never got round to writing reviews. Because I'm not on UK Punting everyday plus I'm lazy. Sorry! Ones I ain't reviewed are Isla Brooks, Gorgeous Georgia, Sexy@Katie99 (previously Melanie Hot), Beautiful Ania and Classy Carmen. The most recent woman I saw was Georgia.

I can not help you with COVID query as I do not follow the latest news. But I suggest you follow this news from Cologne-tourism.

Regarding flight from the UK there are many flights evey day from, Ryan Air, Easy Jet, Euro Wings, Jet2, etc. You could use search engine for flight. The one is widely known External Link/Members Only

Try using Skyscanner External Link/Members Only  You can look for flights from Birmingham to "Germany", enter your dates and click the box for "Direct flights only" and it will search for options for you.

Alternatively, as not much is flying Birmingham to Germany direct, try "UK" to Cologne (or Frankfurt or Brussels) for your dates and it should tell you which London airports do direct or if anywhere else reasonably nearby would be an option e.g. East Midlands, Manchester etc

edit - just noticed adindas suggested the same  :dash:

have a good time if you go (sim racing is a old hobby of mine), and probably be better if you get vacinated if you can.

but you can also take a ring taxi (i think?) while your there, that would be a cool experience too

booking.com probably has plenty of coverage there for hotels etc, and rome2rio might help you figure out travel, and flixbus is the main equivilent to national express in europe if you need something like that for medium/long distance travel.

and yes you will probably need a bunch of tests and money too (£2000?) to cover self isolation cost incase you get the plague.

write out a list/itinerary with everything, every step, then go through and fill in what you can do to get to the next step.

Thank you for your information guys! I'll check out Skyscanner, booking.com and other websites mentioned.

Definately do the taxi around the Nordschleiffe! And I'll try to meet my favourite youtubers there, such as Jimmy Broadbent and Jardier Honzic. But two grand to self-isolate if I catch it, ouch! Nearly put me off. I'll still have another think.

Alright, alright, alright! Am I supposed to write reviews? Something I must do? Fine, I'll write a review for Gorgeous Vicky tomorrow. Saw her two months ago. Message me to chase me up if there's still no review from me. I plan to see Lucy from Lush Escort on Tuesday next week or the Tuesday after that week. And write a review for that too.

Yes please, write a review for a girl that has 32 positives, I’m sure it’ll be most informative

I am just back from Germany. To get in you will need a double vaccination certificate. The airline will look at it more closely than the border police.

You also need something called an anreisemeldung which is a form you complete to say where you will stay. It is free and easy to complete and can be stored on your phone.

Coming back, you need a covid antigen test which can be done free or cheaply in Germany. You need to fill in the traveller locator form for the UK government, you need your vaccination certificate, again, and you need to book a test on day 2 of return, which cost me £43. On arrival back to the UK, I spoke to nobody from the Border Force or any government agencies. Only the airline took any interest in what I had and hadn't done, and that was some German woman in her 50s.

It sounds much more complicated than it is.

I think this qualifies as a brand new level of lazy.

Get vaccinated, it will make everything a lot easier. If you're not vaccinated, then you'll have to present a negative test result before entering Germany (I assume this would be done before boarding the plane in the UK), and then you'll have to go into quarantine for a minimum 5 days on arrival, after which you can end the quarantine early after taking yet another corona test. Rules vary from place to place, but many brothels/clubs will also require you to present a vaccination certificate or negative test result before allowing you in, and also some restaurants/bars/events, depending on the local incidence rate. If you're vaccinated (or you have "proof of recovery" from an early COVID infection), you can completely skip the testing and quarantine requirements.

When going back to the UK, you'll also have to present a negative test result before boarding the plane. This is a requirement of the UK government, not the Germans, and applies to everybody whether vaccinated or not. A quick antigen test ("Schnelltest") is acceptable, as long as the results are in English. Technically you have to pay if you're not a resident in Germany, but I took a test today, and they didn't even ask. The test centres get paid for each test performed on German citizens by the government, but it's not enforced very strictly, so some places may not give a fuck and test anybody for free. So you might get lucky, but you should be prepared to pay for it, probably around €20 or so.

The rules for entering Germany can be found at the following link (also in English). You should check this before travelling because they can change depending on the current situation.

you still don't seem to get the ethos of this site. Its SHARING information. ie you WANT TO SHARE your knowledge and experience with like minded guys and they share their info/experiences with others.  You come across very much as "ok, if i have to" rather than you want to!

do you have underlying health conditions that prevent you from taking the vaccine, an anti-vaxxer or just couldn't be bothered?

it will make your life easier to be double jabbed.  unsure your timeline but you'll need something like 8 weeks between jabs.  the NHS app will create the certificate proof once you've had the jabs.

as for shagging a German bird, better be a civvie or indie.  the fkk setup will likely check for covid certificate.
