Some members on here have pointed out over the course of many weeks and months that maybe it is time to give up on punting.

Im on the other hand are sticking with the punting scene because In London (and I can only speak for London) there are still plenty of positive options I feel but only if every now and then you are prepared to travel to take the tube further a feild for where you are.
Just look at how much positive reviews they appeared to be for one week to the next all being reviews are somewhat subjective.
Yes you might pay more for services these days than you would even just a few years ago. That is true.

But the argument that they are not aot that many wgs to be found is not that accurate. There are less than there were 5 years ago but there are still plenty to have our fun and to not always see the same wg week after week.

Just be prepared to travel from North to South, east to west and use the whole length of the tube network (we live in one of the best city in the world for our transport system).

So for my self, I might consider a day trip to London, from Glasgow, fly down with early morning flight, and return home, in evening time.

Things have got to get a lot worse before I give up punting in favour of knitting!

I think I was spoilt by the influx of Poles and suchlike a decade ago, who were both very attractive and showed real enthusiasm.  And likewise the Thais.  They are still the yardstick I compare others to.  British WGs have always compared very poorly.  Due to the lack of new talent, I am now mainly sticking with regulars who I was seeing long before covid, but this is a steadily diminishing pool.  No-one else seems to have anything like the attraction.  Okay, there seems to be no shortage of Roms and Brazilians, but I have given up on these (a WG has to do a lot more than just be pretty and take a pounding to get a positive from me).

Jeez, what with the times spent getting to and from the airports at both ends, queuing for security and the like, that is going to be a long day (although hopefully you shouldn't have to endure the queues for immigration currently hitting the headlines). 

With hotel prices in London currently so low, it is worth considering spending the night.  Some very good deals to be had, particularly if you are prepared to look in zone 2 or beyond, and easily accessible by tube.
