What do you think?

I guess they have to try something to make the sport more interesting.  Personally I find cricket as interesting as watching paint dry but each to their own,  but isn't this just a variation of T20 cricket  :unknown:

Is this the one that did a draft for players ?  If so not sure why cricket needs to copy American sports.

We already have 20 and 50 overs matches so is this really needed ?

From what little I saw the graphics were shocking so only briefly watched.

Test cricket should still have its day, but not sure the younger generation can concentrate for 5 days

But Warwickshire play as Birmingham in T20 cricket . As regards test matches they seem to be played all year round.   :unknown: I remember the outcry when team colours were introduced into test cricket and T20 cricket. Old duffers nearly had a heart attack. Cricket is very much like Rugby Union. Both sports run by Old Farts in suits

Test cricket, when you understand it,is the purest form of the game.

T20 is good ,I'm not sure this new format is needed at all.

Agreed but from a family county players all croaking in our boots we need to enthuse the next generation.
As much as we admired Boycotts standing at the crease for hours, I was more attracted to the likes of Colin Milburn

well at least it wont be a threat to test cricket but might well be to T20
when first announced thought it woud be a mixed format ie each team had to have at least 5 male and 5 female players

hated the graphics and some of the people presentng  oh and the win predictor was all over the place but at least we have cricket  back on BBC

Aaah yes Test cricket. A sport that's played over five days and usually ends in a draw  :dash:

I'm guessing it's been done to try & get more top players in each team & therefore make it more attractive. With 18 county teams the talent is spread too thinly compared to the IPL or the Big Bash.

It's just T20 with a slightly tinkered format & some cringe presenters & crowd interviews with morons. It's good to have cricket on the BBC anyway, even if it's a heavily dumbed-down version.

Fair play to cricket for trying something different. I think the relatively new concept of T20 and now The Hundred will encourage more people to watch and therefore get into the game.

Cant stand Test cricket to be honest and played quite a  lot of cricket at school and county level. Like someone said 5 days of slow paced cricket that ends in a draw more often then not... not for me.

I'd love to see football try different formats with the same players - maybe 5 a side tournament or "The Cage" type format? Or a yearly World vs Europe Best XI like a NBA All Star Game.

It's just not cricket. There is a place for some short-form cricket but once its less than 40 overs it's just endless slogging out and as exciting to watch as basketball - just cos something is happening every five seconds doesn't mean it's better or more entertaining. I can see how it suits TV but I find it unwatchable.

Each to their own GB, I'm a massive basketball fan  so  :D

What about the "Ben Stokes test match"? nobody can call that boring

Watched the game the other night, utter shite, won't be watching it again, prefer test matches.
