It's 33 degrees and I've had to resort to getting me legs out during the hours of daylight. My legs last saw daylight on 14th May 1984. My legs are so white I have to wear sunglasses to stop them blinding me.

The only time my legs come out is when I am on holiday in a foreign country and I know I will never see the witnesses again

Been wearing shorts since heatwave started.
Got stung on legs by wasps twice yesterday.
I was gardening. Itchy as fuck now. Been putting ointment on.
Still itchy though and swollen.
Bought 2 cans of wasp killer from Aldi.

I am WFH due to COVID and I can't bare working in the heat I really struggle and if one slight thing goes wrong it is easy for me to be irratable. There is just no escape from it.

I have had the curtains and windows closed all day. I've read in loads of places that keeping curtains closed helps keep your house cool but I always thought it was bullshit and only tried it for the first time last summer when I was desperate and yeh maybe I should listen to the science as it does work. Still it's depressing sitting in the dark all day.

Budgie smugglers tomorrow. I hope I don't get any Amazon deliveries tomorrow or I may scar the delivery person for life.

I've got a clip on desk top fan on full about 2ft from my face. Recommended.  :)

Ice lollies rule - R whites lemonade for me

All be over in a few days. Then we can all get back to complaining about the "English summer" as we usually do.

Did they broadcast that patronising advertisement on the tube about bringing a bottle of water with you? What are we small children?

I have loads of the strawberry jubbly lollies they are great. Also like the Lidl rip off calippo lollies but my local doesn't seem to sell them this year.

It got to 5pm today and I logged off as was struggling with the heat. Then my neighbour started doing DIY and hammering on our adjourning wall. The noise alongside the heat made me want to scream. Thankfully stopped now. I know DIY needs doing but I wasn't a million miles away from asking her if she could not do it on the hottest day of the year after a stressful day at work.

Going to watch only connect then read Cosmos by Carl Sagan in bed until I drop off. Forecast to be same temp in London tomorrow hoping it is wrong and will cool a bit.

No, I'm a big child.

It's been fantastic. Had a bit of a struggle sleeping first few nights, seemed too stuffy but I've acclimatised  past couple of nights and am dropping off no bother.
Only weird thing is as soon as it gets dark everything in garden gets a mist of dew on it, including me! I'd happily sit out there all night chugging beers but it's not really tenable after about 11:30pm due to the dew.

Got a great tan as well, well and truly creosoted. One third the way to being Mr Universe. Just need to lose 25% of my bodyfat and put on 8 stone of contractile lean muscle and title's mine!

This could carry on for weeks as far as I'm concerned - don't want to hear any nonsense about it being too hot or wish it'd rain.

Had to smile at a joke I saw earlier today - somebody saying he was sweating more than Fred West watching Ground Force.

 that is the upside to it. With all this female flesh on view it makes me feel horny but it's too bloody hot to go for a punt and do anything about it  :dash:

Same here.

Keep all curtains/blinds closed. Open every window possible. Take a short shower (as cold as you can tolerate) 4-5 times a day and drink plenty of water
