Anyone contemplating doing a trip abroad in the next few months for what it’s worth I would consider booking soon.

Only a couple of days ago I booked a flight next month to Germany to return to a FKK Club & today I saw the price has already increased 25%.

It’s now looking very likely that quarantine from amber countries will be removed & any entry restrictions to for example in my case Germany are also according to Merkel on a Friday likely to be scrapped.

Once these changes are confirmed prices will go up. However I don’t think they will rise too much as it will take a while for the public to regain confidence in flying again although I was surprised how quickly my flights had increased, albeit from a very very cheap price.

How confident are you that the FKK clubs will be opened when you fly out?

This is fairly standard practice amongst the Ryanair, EasyJet, budget type airlines. I use Ryanair to fly to Ireland four or five times a year, and the price goes up the nearer it gets to the date of the flight. I imagine all airlines practice this policy, but I’ve only used budget airlines.

I’m guessing the logic is, if you need to fly somewhere this week, it must be an emergency, so you will pay anything.

Ironically I’ve noted if you hold your nerve, in some cases, if you are booking to fly today, and there’s seats available the price can drop.

Well they are open now and at a guess I think they will still be open next month.

I’m less confident they will still be open during the winter, like many things in society it will depend on new variants.

Heathrow to Frankfurt (the proper airport, not the one miles from the city) is under £100 return at the moment with Lufthansa.

I'm going to hold off booking anything for a little longer - for one thing I don't expect that many WGs are working in the FKKs right now, and I want to get the full experience when I'm there.

they have software modeling they use, which varies the prices automatically...

but in the current situation, i guess the least hassle way is either to ensure theres refund options, or book last minute.

It is pretty much standard for every airline and train companies too, but though it is a gamble they can be a lot cheaper at short notice if the plane or train is empty. I recently booked a train from a small Devon town, through Exeter and London and out to Essex with 18 hours notice for the princely sum of £17.80. Edinburgh park, via Edinburgh and out to Essex yesterday with similar notice was £ 60.50. I doubt I would get cheaper with advance booking.

Word of warning though, airlines are advertising for more flights than are actually going to happen, just found this with Ryanair, you book and then told flight is cancelled and you are offered another on same day, usually the earliest one.

I noticed the same. I had flights booked with Lufthansa over the Easter holiday that they cancelled without explanation, and offered me a ridiculous alternative itinerary (my connecting flight departed before my first flight, not sure how that was supposed to work).  I assume airlines want to get as many bookings as possible, then if they stand to lose too much money by running almost empty flights, they'll try to shift everybody onto one flight to save costs. Airlines are cunts.

They are all at it, just advertising full schedule though they do not have enough planes in the right places and staff not on Furlough, it is all about generating cashflow, they have no intention of flying a full schedule.
Unless you are flexible and flying direct to your destination it really is not worth relying on any booking.
