Author Topic: Hay fever - the new punting killer  (Read 1166 times)

After fuck knows how long away from punting due to the sodding pandemic I'm finally feeling up for some fun but hay fever is now putting the brakes on.

Itchy red eyes, itching mouth, bunged up nose and sneezing. It's not going to go down well with any escort. I've tried taking stuff like Benadryl but the tablets make me feel tired.

Are there any other punters out there that suffer as badly as I do, but have better methods for tackling hay fever? Do I need to move away from swallowing tablets to using the other forms of over the counter treatment or should I just sack off the next however many weeks until nature has finished?

Take beconase hay-fever nasal spray. It is about £10 and you have to ask the pharmacist to get them as they are a steroids spray. But they work like magic. They may take one day to get in to your system but fr me it worked in ten minutes. Caution though used too much if you don't need it it will stop working for you. Start with 2 sprays twice a day then eased down to 1 spray twice a day in each nostril.  :hi:

Thanks. I'll try that.

I'm pissed off, there's an escort with last minute availability in the area I'm in but I don't feel like I can book her.

Antihistamines that you might take to treat Hayfever can cause problems with your erection, so not great to take if you're going shagging. ED is a common side effect of taking antihistamines.

I have a different summer time issue. Insect bites. Horsefly's and midges and mosquitoes.
They go for me big time. 6 on my legs so far, 1 on my hand. Itchy as fuck.
Gone back to wearing long trousers again to prevent bites.
I know you can put lotion on to deter insects, and sometimes I do, but its a ball ache doing it every time I step out of the house.

When I was in my teens hayfever became debilitating to me. I ended up going to the doctors for a steroid injection which was a godsend. Sorted me out for a couple of months well past the hayfever season. As I got older it became less an issue but ended up being prescribed fexofenadine which works just fine.

Had it in my younger days no problems now but noticed people sneezing a lot last few weeks which is confusing it with the virus,

ive seen alot of people posting on facebook that wearing a mask seems to help them with it... but i dont know how long you would need in filtered air to feel ready.

The really old hay fever medicine like a decade ago would make you drowsy, the current stuff is Cetirizine and Loratadine which isn't supposed to make you drowsy although I found Loratadine did. Cetirizine doesn't work for me any more though, it lasts a couple hours then I'll be sneezing again and the guidelines say not to take more than 1 a day.

Nowadays you can get antihistamine or steroid nasal spray or fexofenadine tables which a newer antihistamine, they're technically OTC or prescription only but you can get it online quite easily. I've been using the steroid nasal spray which takes 2 weeks to start working but I've had no runny nose since I start, only problem is that I get itchy eyes so I'm gonna need to double up with a tablet when I go punting

I buy mine from Poundland and take 2 of these the night before as I’ve found out they make me drowsy, the only reason I buy the Poundland ones is because I’m not paying £10 for a 7 day course of tablets that are or only a little bit stronger than the ones I have already.
Also the sprays don’t usually work on me

You can get a hayfever jab these days. About £70 if done privately I think. I know a few people who have got it and have not regretted it

Likewise, I only have mild fever and usually for just a couple of weeks, but Cetirizine is fast and effective for me.

Eat honey. Preferably proper honey from a local hive. Gives you some resistance to hay-fever and if it's local honey it's supposedly more effective as it's the same pollen involved. I say supposedly cos I haven't tried local honey, nearest hives are a few miles away, small batch and sell out quickly.
