Author Topic: An AW scam I don't understand  (Read 1345 times)

There are no shortage of profiles in the NW popping up and disappearing every few days. They look identical, copy and paste with heading saying DOWN FOR HOT AND SEXY PUSSY, then mentions looking for hookup and no cops or law enforcement. Very American in the language.

The girl in profile pics is always different, it's always stolen from Insta, FB, Onlyfans model etc.

There is no private gallery and no movies. So they aren't scamming that way.

Out of curiosity I've emailed several profiles and always been given different numbers and asked to WhatsApp them. Checking out their WA profiles the pic (again stolen) matches the AW profile. The WhatsApp is always a business account too.

So someone is running dozens of profiles on AW every week, and lots of sim cards / mobiles / WhatsApp registrations, emails for android accounts etc.

I can't figure out the MO behind this, it's clearly a massive scam which AW tolerates, but can't see how they are gaining? Unless they ask for gift cards, paypal deposits etc ?

This is just an example of profiles in the NW you can see several of them

And it's in lots of regions too, Oxforshire, Yorks, Essex.

There was a thread earlier about this. If you arrange a meet they will ask for money or vouchers up front and the chances are you will never actually meet anyone.

I'd figured something like that. It massive scam being run across so many profiles to make it worth the effort.

Just out of curiosity I did a AW search on new profiles in UK, sorted by newest  first.

Top of the list is a  brand new profile using same pics as the profile above. And it has 1 view, so must have been up for all of 1 minute

this happened a lot last summer on locanto, number given out, asked to whats app, then they person who set up the profile must research the local area they are pretending to be in, gives out a approximate address to any one who askes about booking. then they ask for deposit up front or full payment up front. then send bank transfer detail. if they do a scatter gun approach and set up loads of profiles they sit back and wait for the ones who are prepared to risk paying upfront.

Its absolutely prolific scam

8 of the most recent 50 most recent registered profiles on AW are this same scammer.

A quick look at the other profiles on the first page  shows another 12 that are clearly fake, possibly the same scammer with a tweak of the profile.

Hopefully this thread will save someone getting scammed.

I got an address and they didn’t research it very well, it was the least likely place for an escort to be working, I was asked to get an Amazon gift card then give them the number before I went in, kept contacting me for a few days as well.
