Existentialists would argue otherwise.  Does eating a lentil curry make you a vegetarian?  Drinking a glass of wine at Christmas make you a boozer?

There is a valid argument that there is a vast difference between what a person "does" and what a person "is".  They (existentialists) would have said that only when a person is dead can you say what they were .. until then, only observe what they do ... they may completely change tomorrow.  (Remember, they had just lived the French experience of World War 2 and German occupation and were trying to make sense of all that).

You are, of course, free to disagree and to label someone absolutely for their actions.  Most people do.  This is actually what Sartre was getting at when he famously said "Hell is other people".
