We have had topics on favourite films, television so taking note of a recent comment by Mr_Shins  :hi: What is your all time favourite song. You can only pick one. If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be ? A song your never tired of hearing. (despite my avatar name it's not Mr.Bluesky by ELO) .
My choice would be Metallica and " Nothing else matters"

The mystery of chess boxing by the Wu-tang Clan. Just a great track. 1st time I heard I was blown away by how good it was. Still stands the test of time some 28 years later.

Great choice. My favourite Wu-Tang song is probably Protect Ya Neck (Jump Off). It was the B side of their song Gravel Pit but preferred it much more 👍🏼

Hard to list one other song - I was trying to find my most played songs ever on Spotify but cant see it. Will have another look as might help influence my decision!

I could list a top ten but even that would be difficult.

Won't get fooled again, The Who.

I Want You - Bob Dylan

Good call.  If you're into Dylan have you seen the Todd Haynes film, an unconventional Dylan 'biopic', I'm Not There (not trying to derail the thread!)?  I Want You features in a brilliant sequence.

In answer to the OP request, it's impossible, but I was listening to Bowie's Cygnet Committee this morning, so that'll do for a start.

Very hard to pick just one, can change daily, right now I would say, Many Rivers To Cross by Jimmy Cliff or Into The Mystic by Van Morrison or maybe Uncertain Smile by The The for Jools Holland's brilliant piano as much as anything.

Put a gun to my head and I'd likely come down on the side of Loaded - Primal Scream.

But that could change again tomorrow.

Offline Ghost89

Thunderstruck by AC/DC. should have instructions to be only played loud.

Offline Jumping Jack Flash

It would have to come down to favourite songs by genre.

So, for example soul would be Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding

Rock would be All Along The Watchtower by Hendrix

Offline Gordon Bennett

It's nonsense to say "it's impossible to pick one"... get a grip and pick one and stop being precious!

Pretend I have a gun at your head and I'm going to blow your brains out if you don't tell me a song right now. Or, you're about to die but you have time to hear one song before you snuff it.

See? It's entirely possible to pick one song if you focus and stop worrying about looking cool and outré.

Anyway, Complete Control by The Clash for me.

Quite niche to say the least and I doubt it'd scrape my top 100 but this would be popular with some on here: External Link/Members Only

'Back in Black', purely for the intro.

I'd be hard pushed to pick a Maiden song though, would need a top 10.

Right now its Im a Realist by The Cribs

Offline Thephoenix

Growing up in the same era and places frequented by The Beatles in their early days of church halls and community centres, there are so many of their songs and legacy to pick from.
I suppose my favourite is 'Let it Be', as it reminds me of the group breaking up, and I identify with the lyrics.

Having said that, as my music tastes are so varied, I'd have to say it depends on my mood. :unknown:

I realised you'd made this after I made mine. Hence the bump on this thread, rather than mine
(Hans Zimmer - Time - Instrumental Core Remix)

edit: you mentioned your thread in mine. I know it warns against bumps. But it seemed to make more sense to post here after I actually worked out how to find this thread. Hope this is ok mods + admins  :drinks:
