Just tuned in to ITV ahead of the national which is the 6th race today at Aintree, apparently the 1st 5 races have all been won by the favourite, Cloth cap anyone  :unknown:

Done a few more horses E/W around the 25/1 mark and a 100/1 outsider but also of the shortest price ones i've actually put some on Minella Times which has Rachael Blackmore on board.

A female jockey has to win it one day and unlike years ago where they only got donkeys to ride some of the top female jockeys are now getting a decent seat.
She showed how to do it at Cheltenham this year and has earned the right to ride a horse which is in with a realistic chance, I also wonder whether women are getting better horses these days as it would be big kudos to own / train the 1st national winner with a female jockey
Told you  ;)

I got 14/1  :drinks:

What happened to your other selection, Kimberlite Candy ??????

So much for the virtual Grand National.  :unknown:

Congratulations to Rachael Blackmoor.     :drinks:

No idea what went wrong with Cloth Cap, going well until the half way mark. ???

Pulled up, back in one piece though trainer seems to think a wind problem. That's at the front end not the back!

It pulled up with a couple of fences to go, don't remember ever hearing it mentioned during the race

The virtual race -
1st Cloth cap - Actual result DNF
2nd Kimberlite candy - Actual result DNF
3rd Any second now - Actual result 3rd but it was badly hampered at about the 10th fence which put it right back
4th Burrows saint - Actual result 4th
5th Minella Times - Actual result 1st

Clearly the first 2 predictions were off but the other 3 all made the frame and one of them won it so the computer was probably better than most punters using their judgement

It predicted the market leaders, no mention of the 100/1 outsider.     :unknown:

A computer can’t allow for all the things that can happen in a 4 mile + race.

Exactly like the 3rd place horse being hampered which may well have otherwise won it or Cloth cap having a breathing problem, i'm guessing the computer analyses all the info then runs the race 100's or 1000's of times then predicts the most likely result based on the averages of the runnings

It still remains however that of the 1st 5 the computer predicted 3 of them were in the 1st 5 and one of them won it

You like the computer and many of the pundits also predicted Cloth cap and it didn't finish

10 of the first 11 horses home trained in Ireland plus most of the Cheltenham races trained in Ireland too. The fucking Irish are kings this year and seem to have all the best horses. Just wonder if that will carry on into the flat season with the O’Brien clan sweeping up all of the top races?
