On your first point, of the 4 scots posting here, 2 were against independence, 1 for, and 1 hasn't declared.

It's page 2. Wait til it gets to page 10.

Your Incorrect, It was James VI of Scotland who United the crowns, he then became James I of England.

King Edward I (Longshanks) did a good job at trying to conquer the whole British Isles.

I think It's a mistake for Scotland to leave the union, but do many people realise that there would be no UK If Scotland left, as It's the Union of England & Scotland, Wales and NI are just a Principality of England and a Province of UK, so It would be back to the Kingdom of England again.

Edward the first was fighting to expand his family dominions, i.e they were of french origin, it just so happens that after the turmoil of the norman conquest and it's aftermath in 1066 and Edwards family taking over England (Plantagenets), England as a nation was on the up in terms of national identity and collectiveness, which allowed Edward to use as a powerful force for his conquests.

Haven't read the whole of this thread, so apologies if this has already been mentioned, but what happens to all the Scots currently living and working in England, Wales and N. Ireland if Scotland does get its independence, and therefore is no longer a member of the EU? Do they all suddenly become illegal immigrants, no longer entitled to live and work here, and therefore liable to deportation back to their own country?

Well Salmond seems to think all 3 parties and the boss of the BoE are bluffing re monetary union. I reckon they'll be spending Euros should they vote yes

I think there bluffing, after all, if we don't get the pound as currency, what happens to the debt, ideally the snp could say

If were not getting the pound, then we don't have any debt either, you cant have one without the other

if you think scotland will get the pound dream on, if they welsh on their debit, wont be good for scotland to get any low interest rates of credit, but than again the SNP never been very good with figures, Alice in wonderland comes to mind.

I'm not incorrect, I just referred to him by his more familiar (in England, where I live,) title.

You said James I (of Scotland) he was born In 1394,  :) now If you'd said James I (of England)  :hi:

Don't know much about this yet frankly I'm worried about UKIP gaining a seat here for europe.

But Cameron is touring about Scotland and that wee promise of more devolution powers for Scotland seems a bit ..... Empty.

The conservatives have one seat here I very much doubt his party could give a fuck. But then they would have to move trident to some other town they don't give a shit about and nobody in Westminster wants to juggle that issue.

One thing Is for sure even though we are in off-topic I don't really expect to find anything but a mountain of misinformation and bullshit here or any other internet dump.

Yes, technically you are correct, even if pedantic - as I said I was using his more familiar title in England, which is where I live.

A yes vote is not a vote for Salmond or the SNP, but a vote for Scotland to be independant, just so happens that Salmond and the SNP are the current party in power leading the charge.  There is an election in May 2016, to vote for the governing party of Scotland, which is a short time following the proposed date for Scotland to go independant in March 2016, so Salmond, Sturgeon and co could be given their jotters in favour of any other party, realisitically Labour.

Salmond and the SNP are not the only option for independence, merely the poster boys.

Also, Scotland makes up a large part of the Labour party seats from the last UK election.  How many years of Tory rule would a yes vote lead to?
