Was the rations really a reference to wartime or just general parlance? I doubt anyone had a tenner a week to spare back then or the use of incubators.

Is Clapham a "safe area", don't you get muggings there at night.   

Clapham is a safe area. It's just this one off incident that occurred and it did not even occur in the park, it was after she went through the park into a different area. The virgil just took place there. When the clubs were open then, on club nights there was disturbances but in general it is a safe area. I'm more safer now than I ever was as a teenager. I lived in a different area and had to worry about gangs and violence in broad day let alone night time. I have no concerns in clapham apart from dogs and foxes, if I was a woman perhaps I might feel different with all the media portraying men as villians.
