The demonstration in Central London on Monday 15th March, so much for social distancing.

Well the bill presented to parliament this week outlaws even one person from protesting, with a 10 year sentence for "causing an annoyance". You must be outraged at this, yes?

Would you be pleased to see fellow cabbies jailed for campaigning against Uber?

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but is anyone else concerned about Police recruitment policies?

Back in the day when my friends and family joined you went through a military style college, on parade every morning,  not everyone made it, this guy joined and in 2 years gets into the diplomatic gun squad ?
What the fuck is selection and training given for a local bobby?  2 legs,2 arms, a driving license and a love of fast food ?
Banned reason: Undesirable, previously banned, still attacking members, discussing UKP with SP, toxic personality, it’s a no from me!,

He had previous experience with the military, that explains him being given firearms duties.

Prior to joining the police, Couzens was in the Territorial Army. He served as a reservist with the 3rd Battalion, the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, based in Canterbury, from 2002 to 2004.

His first armed police job was protecting Dungeness nuclear power station as part of the Strategic Escort Group.

He was equipped with a Heckler and Koch G36 rifle as he accompanied nuclear material being transported around the country. The role came to an end when he failed an annual fitness test. It meant he was effectively demoted to guarding the power station building, with travel halted.

I'm sure his brother being a police officer of long-standing helped. His standing will be damaged, unless they were a team of serial killers.

As for failing a fitness test you generally get as much help as required to pass them and the bar is quite low 2km in 15 mins.

Jimmy - very very rare to go straight to DPG/ARv and Trojan.

Most will still do minimum 2 yrs on the streets/beat.

That info makes it worse, he failed a fitness test for riding around in trucks with nuclear waste?  Then the police deemed him fit enough to guard diplomats, royalty or whatever on the streets of London?

Who used to say, " you could not make it up "  No wonder with things like this and the general lowering of standards, wages and snowflakes getting airtime on the BBC, we are fast heading to third world status.

Love the way you managed to blame the BBC and “snowflakes “ for him being a police man, “ you could not make it up” oh wait a minute you just did

Having spent years working in a cash economy you would of thought he would have adequate savings so he didn’t have to claim anything other than his state pension and bus pass  :sarcastic:

There's a lot more lighting in clapham park now due to the unfortunate incident. I remember years ago I would be in clapham park in the middle of the night and it was damn near pitch black when there were no lights. There's lights everywhere now, but less people go through the park at night than before.

Just referring to Tilbrook's night on the windy common in the 1979 single (had to check).

Was the rations really a reference to wartime or just general parlance? I doubt anyone had a tenner a week to spare back then or the use of incubators.
