Just a personal perspective and so possibly not representative of other experiences, but during my daily walks and longer hikes at weekends I have noted an increasingly hostile, suspicious and fearful atmosphere when out since Sarah Everard's tragic death
I had one women literally jump in a bush as I came towards her yesterday, despite me acknowledging her and standing to the side to let her pass on a narrow path. Another women walking her dog did similar despite my best efforts to give her space.
I also had several women give me dirty looks when I gave them a friendly"good morning" on my daily circuit. I don't believe I'm a threatening guy- least of all physically- I'd imagine any women who's a semi regular gym goer could probably fend me off I wanted to do that?
I hope this was a one off and perhaps Covid has made people feel a little more paranoid,

but somehow this felt different and quite unpleasant?
