It's cast a shadow over the Virgin ads (and the whole company) now we know old Branston's in the Epstein files. "Bring your harem" he said to his mate Jeff!  :(

Has it? Branson maybe Teflon but there’s no actual accusation. I doubt his business empire will be affected by any association.

That Trivago series of adverts - with inflation now so that they are normalising £150 a night - up from £130 a night.

The sad thing is that they'll already be preparing to film the £170 rate.

And pay £6m to lawyers while still not finalising settlements!

The Voy weight loss advert with those chubsters doing that weird dance, whats that all about  :unknown:

Offline Corus Boy

Any bingo advert but the laughing woman on Zebra bingo and Mr Q bingo.

Offline Ghost89

Any train advert. Showing exactly the opposite of how train services really are. For instance…plenty of seats and space. Should be done for trades description act.

Any funeral plan company in my mind is just giving people to invest in the stock market with your money, Pure Cremations also advertise the cost of a basic at £2500 when they are available for £1500 - but apart from that daylight robbery how tf can can anyone buying from them give 5* trustpilot reviews?

The cremation adverts are annoying in that they're so happy about it.

Krispy Kreme ones before Netflix programmes.  One of the worst examples I've seen in years.

Another ubiquitous AF one during YouTube shows.

Abu Dhabi Dos.

The boat on her, grating voice.

The one with kids not much better either  :dash:

The save water ads that are just bombarding you not to use water. Fuck off! Reduce my rates then I might think about it!

They could save water by fixing all the leaking pipes first .

Just got a mailshot from Ideal Home - their XMAS 2026 special is out.

Just when you're hoping the summer sun is going to last a bit longer.

Having travelled to a fuckload of countries in my time and sometimes had to spend time watching local TV, I've always been amused by the relative lack of sophistry and effort many of them even make with TV adverts, for instance the Peruvian equivalent of Senor Bumblebee of The Simpsons waving a chequebook at the screen screaming "Quanto costa!" Or a Romanian duo simply shaking their tits in the name of cosmetics.

Then I saw the latest hapless Currys ad.

Still, I wouldn't say no to her, at all.

Just spent 8 weeks with that playing on every chanel. Not that I was watching it.

And sophistry in ads doesn't work. Saying there's 25% off does.

"Does my bum look big in this?" should be a thread title here, TBF.

I am listening to a podcast series at the moment and there are typically three advertising segments per 30-40 minute episode (one at the start and two more). OK.

In each segment there are 2, maybe 3 adverts, each not too long, bearable.

But the first advert in almost every segment (so at least 3 times per episode and in every episode) is the exact same advert, advertising ... podcast advertising.

I am losing the will to live and almost certainly won't carry on listening if it doesn't stop. They appear to be trying to prove that podcast advertising is a terrible idea.

Have you tried the BBC?
For those of us not on the advertising bubble, it's jolly good

Of course, I listen to plenty. But not all podcasts are BBC podcasts...

Most commercial podcasts have well done adverts because, you know, you don't want to turn customers away.

The BBC is packed with averts. It may be advertising their own shows and products, but it’s still advertising.
