I have tickets for Fontaines DC on 27 May at Alexander Palace. I'm not a huge fan but think they are okay and really want it to go ahead because I would love to go to a gig.

Following the announcement of their split I watched clips of Daft Punk at Wireless festival in 2007. I was there and still remember just how pumped up the whole place was. Gave me the feels I would love to go to a festival this year.

I had loads of gigs lined up before Covid – they were mostly postponed and rescheduled a number of times so hopefully they'll go ahead in the autumn – Fontaines DC was one of them

Daft Punk! you have great taste  praying I can get to some sort of music festival this year there’s a couple I’ve got my eye on. The reggae one in MK looks good just holding out until they announce who’s headlining. There’s also a jazz, funk & soul one at Brockwell Park in September that’s piqued my interest too.
Would just be great to have things to look forward to again.

What came to amuse me was the song 'Hersham Boys'. Growing up in 60s/70s NE England we always envisaged Hersham as some hell-hole place cos of Sham 69s / skinhead's association with Hersham.

Living in Esher, then Oxshott in Surrey for a while, i couldn't believe how well Hersham compared to the hell-hole, Red House council estate i grew up in.....
Compared to this, the 'Hersham Boys/Cockney Cowboys were like middle class warriors tbh..

Dunno what my first gig will be - so many tours postponed multiple times or cancelled, it’s hard to keep track.

Don't think we should be jumping the gun. We need to see who we have a choice of seeing first surely... :unknown:

Offline Gordon Bennett

Bhamguy.... Dunno if you are aware of this docu-film thing on Axxxxxx Prime but it's very good and probably right up your street.

I always thought the AntiNowhereLeague were a bunch of divs to be honest but after watching this I now realise they were (and still are) living the dream.

Enjoy!

FFS link won't work - you'll have to manually type in the missing letters or just Google "Anti Nowhere League film".

Roll on the Proms at the Albert Hall, thats Summer for me:)..

Offline Malvolio

Difficult to say - I'm booked to see The Beach Boys at the Albert Hall in June, but who knows if that will happen.

No live music is one of the things I've missed most in the last year.

Offline Cactus

Had Idles booked for May in Glasgow. Just had an email to say it’s been delayed until February 2022, which I expected, even when I booked the tickets.

Will see what happens in the Summer, can’t see things going to plan per Boris’ roadmap, so there may be more cancellations to come.

Yes and Deep Purple both have tours scheduled, but its the old problem: will it be a real version of the band or a bunch of standins just making up the numbers?

Offline Malvolio

It'll be the same version of Deep Purple that's been touring for the last 18 years (with three of the 'classic' line-up).

Probably Iron Maiden in Arnhem.

Rescheduled from last year. Would have had Alter Bridge and Airbourne supporting. Fuck knows who the support will be this year, assuming it goes ahead

Maybe a small 'socially distanced sat at tables' local gig in May.

Yes - with Steve Morse instead of Ritchie Blackmore and Don Airey instead of Jon Lord (RIP).

Still put on a damn good live show in my book.

I have booked tickets for one of the one day festivals in late August and I'm optimistic it will go ahead with the current rate of vaccinations. It's a festival I try and go to every year, some years it's been amazing some years shit but I think it's always worth the risk. Quite a big group of us going so it should be a laugh at the very least. Really looking forward to it.

Hi, sorry missed this question but no it is not a punk gig. It's Field Day Festival which is big enough so no issues me posting the name on this forum.

I just booked tickets to see Public Service Broadcasting at Brixton which my girlfriend a couple of mates who are all fans. This will be my first post-lockdown non-festival gig. I have seen PSB at Brixton before before I knew any of theirs songs (mate had spare ticket) and I thought it was a great show. I also saw them at Glastonbury in 2014, was pretty wasted but I remember it being good. I now know most of their songs so I should enjoy it more. They have a new album out in September as well.

I don't know whether the gig will be full capacity. I can't see how they could divide Brixton up for social distancing so I'm assuming it will be full capacity. I will be fully vaxxed by then.
