This is a bit of a curve ball I know but does any one remember if lap dance bars were open in last summer between the lockdowns.  I presumed the industry was shut .it was illogical when saunas were open with restrictions.  We may never see the lap dance bars again?

It looks as though there is a wall/barrier btw lap dancing and escort business.  There is no sign of exodus of lap dancers to sex industry just because there is no dancing job anymore. let's say Lap Dancing is not in sex industry.  I wonder what they are doing now.  Those women live on male attention and admiration.  They don't spend their days reading Jane Austin.  Found a Tesco check out job?  That's not what they are.

Even before Covid there were a fair few ex lap dancers working as escorts. Of course not all dancers go this route but a good number have dabbled.

came across a girl in a sauna, reading anna karenina, she was impressed that i could quote the opening line,(it regularly features in quizzes) this girl who was polish, had recently returned from a jane austen enactment week end in bath. My friend's sister was a lap dancer while being a medical student.

She traveled 100+ miles away to do it and would work 2/3 days at the weekend until her studies just meant it was too difficult to do. Once she graduated and became Dr. Lapdancer she complained that for the first 4/5 she was working she got paid more for lapdancing at the weekend than she did for being a Doctor working silly hours.

Flexible hours and easy money...  the same goes for escorts and even more so. U r ur own boss. Look, if you work at a bar, you still have a boss. I only knew the Western in Edinburgh pubic triangle.  But I knew fairly well how system worked.  They do shift. and the manager decides when.  It is the weekends they want to work.  Weekdays pay comparatively little but new girls had to start from there. and they have to pay the bar daily due. 

One girl told me she would never want a random man to touch her, not with hands.  I think there is this psychological barrier for many girls.  The crossing didn't happen in Edinburgh at least.

Clubs in Edinburgh I have been to Bottoms Up, Western Bar, and Burke & Hair.  Bottoms up in the mid 90's private dance in a very tight booth. once dancer didn't mind you groping, in fact she encouraged it.  She asked me if I wanted to go further, which i did, which she then suggested, I head up stairs, ambassador sauna

The dancer in burke and hair, out on good shows, and some right in your face moments.  Western Bar, got pretty rowdy at times, and some of the dancers go further than others.
