Author Topic: Half hour punts - getting stood up?  (Read 7973 times)

Anybody find they get stood up a lot when only booking a half hour with and Indy?

Happened to me today an hour and a half before the meet. Excuse may have been legit, or maybe somebody offered an hour?

An hour is my minimum but i imagine and know if what some WGs have said to me over the years is true that if they get a longer booking and/or a regular rings after they have accepted a half hour booking they will blow the half hour punter out or try to re-arrange. Personally i never believe excuses from WGs because i compare them to other women who i do business with outside punting and they rarely make excuses so why do some WGs do so much more often percentage wise.

I would agree with this, ofcourse they would blow off (Excuse the pun  )the half hour for a full hour.

I've not tried a half hour booking yet but am not sure that I'd get what I need in less than an hour. But, anyway, the point I'll make is that I also get blown out with a booking for a 1 hour punt. I've also not established any regular girl yet. So am not sure whether that will help improve my booking success rate.

I also prefer indies and get the impression that, as I go for the very price competitive end of the market (£90-£100p/h), I'm not likely to find many, if any, girls who are, shall we say, more customer focused. So, that's why I tend to have a plan b in place for when I'm blown out.

Offline threechilliman

Plan b would have been Sandys, but in the end I decided to keep my money in my pocket. I can see her tomorrow or next week. Or someone else....

It was more for every 10 30 mins you book, how many are you likely to see compared to hour long punts

Sounds like holding back and waiting patiently to see your preferred indie's a great plan b  :)

Yeah. When I first started I'd have had to have a punt and gone to Sandy's. I've learned the next opportunity is never far away - keep your money in your pocket until you get what you want....

...and I've done just that. Different girl booked for later in the week. Fantasy time. Her husband is going to join us. CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you should say that, I got stood up for a 15 minute quicky the other day. Can't say I blame her, sounds like she had a 3 hour booking come in just after she'd agreed mine. :)

Never bother with half an hour, at my age I need one and half hours for two pops so luckily have never been blown out.

I only ever do 15 and 30 min punts so this is just a hazard I've come to accept. I was going to start booking 60 min sessions with my old regular Morgan but now she seems to be outcall only I've had to knock that idea on the head.

He certainly does. The witching hour approaches....

Most my punts over the last few years have been 30 mins and not really had a problem. Then again it's rare I book 90 mins in advance. I usually call, and then arrange it for whatever the travel time is, so 30 mins or so. To be honest I'm generally surprised when they actually keep my booking and a fair bit of the time they are busy, clearly having taken (or not finished) another booking.

Always been my attitude. I work to a rough budget so if there are no girls I like today it means I get a punt tomorrow/wheneer instead. The important thing is don't waste the cash on a girl you don't really want or who gives a bad service.

In the past when I've booked an hour I've had cancellation problems just the same.

I guess the other thing is if you book for 5pm say and they get somebody wants an hour at 4.30 then I'm sure many girls would take that booking. Unless you are a regular they can never really be sure you will turn up so take the guy who is there and hope you;ll wait it out. Most businesses would do the same.

I prefer 1 hour punts but will book for 30 min if unsure if the prossie can be bothered to entertain me for the whole hour. Like wristjob they tend to be booked at short notice so I've not had too many problems. Twice I have booked an hour ahead, got to the hotel and found the prossies phone to be off, majorly fucked off at that and guessed they'd got a better offer when I was already on route.

I have been bumped down from a 1 hour to a 30 minute booking before though as the prossies mate had a booking which overlapped mine. Bummer, she was bloody good and I wanted to go for round 2.

Offline Daffodil

Prossies will always sell themselves to a higher bidder/safer bet. Human nature in some ways, but also prossies don't understand the importance of reputation and word of mouth like other businesses.

They also think that they have men wrapped around their little fingers and they will believe any bollocks they spout. Unfortunately, in a lot of cases, they are right

You reckon? I used to sell various items and the amount of times people asked me to hold the item for a few days or whatever and then never contacted me again just wasn't funny. After a while I just refused to hold items - then I realised I was potentially doing myself out of business so I was happy to hold the stuff for them - except had no intention of doing so if somebody else turned up with the cash.

I bet WGs get stood up and messed around something rotten by punters. How much of that does it take before you get cynical and are willing to bump a booking from a new client for a regular or a guy 5 mins away with the cash?

Fair enough, I will bow to your experience of customers.

However, I would consider you to be a bit of a shit if I'd agreed for you to hold some stuff and then turn up and find you'd sold it to a higher bidder/somebody who had turned up before me. I would also inform my friends and acquaintances of your underhand behaviour, encourage them not to do business with you and, in this day and age, leave a negative review online.

It can become something of an arms race, but I believe if the seller takes on the buyer it is the seller who will eventually lose  :hi:

Not a load of ladies on here. They are constantly moaning about "timewasters" and I guess there are loads of people who get a cheap thrill out of phoning a prostitute.

Personally I've had work dumped on me when I'd planned a booking, things come up that couldn't be avoided and plenty of bookings where I was monumentally late due to getting lost (which I'm very skilled at). One of the reasons I don't book far ahead is I don't always know what my plans will be so I try not to make promises I can't keep.

Time wasters, for prossies, are part and parcel. Start screwing over your clients (in the prostitution world and the business) and you won't last long.

Well a customer is a guy with the money in his pocket and the desire to pay TODAY. If you want it next friday when you get paid call me next friday. I've been asked to hold stuff maybe 20 times - and literally one person ever bought off me in the end. I'm good mates with her actually and she always points out that she did buy. If you got treated the same way you would react the same way.

No, I don't think I would. You sometimes have to take the rough with the smooth, and reputation is king. As soon as people start to believe they can't rely on you then you're going to struggle. Fuck one guy over and he tells ten people, they then tell ten people. Fuck over another guy and you've lost 200 customers.

It depends on the customer. For people who wanted to buy next week or whenever as I said I had about 1 person in 20 who did. The 19 who never got back weren't going to do much about my reputation. The one who did - well I had loads of the same item in so not a problem for her.  If the person did come back I'd likely have something similar in anyway and usually offer it at a discount. Some will be happy, some won't.

I can't speak for WGs, I dunno how unreliable new clients are. If 19/20 no-showed that probably means they get 1 actual booking every week/fortnight. That would be depressing. if I were a WG I'd likely not take advance bookings from new clients - if you can't phone on the day you can't book. If I did screw up a later booking and £10 discount will probably see you right 9/10 times.

Seriously if you think WGs are worse than anyone else think again. You go to the GP, dentist or whatever and wait for 30 minutes for your 4pm booking. That's cos so many people no-show so they overbook.

I do also sell online where I have a stellar reputation. Ebay has a VERY harsh feedback system so i have no sympathy for a WG getting reviewed - it happens to me 10 times a day. Selling locally is a different thing entirely. The comparison would be booking a girl through AW or phoning up. if you book through AW you can leave feedback if she messes you about - if you just call then most likely you probably won't do anything about it.

One of the reasons they get paid so well, they should expect and deal with this in a professional manner without it affecting the next punter, that's how other businesses deal with it and the good prossies should as well.

Unreliable customers should not be used as an excuse to deal poorly with the next person, that way leads to failure.

Well, I've often been to see either where my 10 minute appointment has been 30 minutes late. If I need to be somewhere straight after, lunchbreak or whatever, then I've been fucked over.

If the WG feeds you some BS about a client overrunning or some crisis and she'll be late and maybe offers a sweetener that's the same situation really. If she just goes quiet on you you are sat high and dry that's a different situation. As with most crisis situations it's not really about the crisis, it's down to how you handle it.

Also they have had many years of education and training, which in modern times means lots of debt. No training required to be a prossie, which in itself is a damn shame.

I've held shorter bookings over longer ones on principal, and turned down extensions because I have another booking lined up later to have the second booking not turn up or cancel.

No booking is definite until the client has turned up and is leaving happy. Even mostly reliable clients can have something come up. That said you can sometimes tell if someone isn't going to confirm/turn up etc. Sometimes, very rarely I have double booked and 9 times out of ten been right. The 1 time I didn't let the person travel, I cancelled and we did rearrange for a slightly different time.

Yes reputation is key however I have been slagged off on the phone because I can't see someone, had regular clients unhappy because I'm fully booked by those who then drop out at the last minute - and last minute notice is good for them. I've also had new clients offer me extra money, make wonderful promises to try and persuade me to drop other plans or appointments to see them. The thing is I have no guarantee they'll turn up, sure I could cancel the shorter appointment and the other one might not turn up.

Regulars will stay with you but if you are unavailable enough they tend to make their own provision.

Following spates of having lots of new to me clients dropping out, I have on occasion reverted to regulars only for a while. Makes more sense to keep time available for them, and earn a bit less for while. Speaking of which at such times I've had the odd guy ask me to make an exception, because after all he had been in touch before I'd decided to stop seeing new clients - for him then to do exactly the same thing.

There is no answer apart from apply sensible rules and stick to them.  Genuine clients should not suffer however what genuine clients do not know is the number of men who book, tell you they are genuine and will be there "110%". As if someone who's going to be flaky wouldn't say that?

What is interesting is the amount of cancellations. I'd estimate at least 50% of new bookings do not follow through either not confirming or let you know by cancelling, second appointment 75% turn up, after that around 90% of regular appointments attend. Some regulars never cancel, ever. One or two cancel every other time. If number of cancels = more than actual appointments attended I no longer hold time.

Have to agree.  Whilst life in this job would probably be easier if I took whoever got to me first and left the others hanging, I would end up with a bad reputation and no regulars as it would get around I was unreliable.  It is just not worth it.  Yes sometimes I take a half hour booking and then get someone wanting a 3 hours at the same time so feel like kicking myself but I always say try ringing at the appointment time as if he does not arrive I can then fit you in or I will tell him if he takes a shorter 2hour  booking at such and such a time I will give him a bit of a discount if he cant do any later for 3hours.  That way I get to keep both clients and both are happy and don't feel let down.  If the half hour doesn't turn up then I have not lost out too much and it means I get a bit extra time to relax

Really? I'm not sure that punters are so keen to discuss what is typically a very private hobby. And that, unfortunately, can work very well in the favour of a lacklustre working girl or the pimp who's managing that girl's schedule/appointments. But luckily for us UKP members we have this forum to help us share our good/bad experiences freely and anonymously with other punters.  :drinks:

Which is what I basically said - you make judgement calls and the fallout depends on how you manage the situation. In reality there's a lot of instinct there and it's more complex than you could really explain on a forum.

That's bad and I'd say strange. I've done my share of punting and can't remember cancelling one for sure. I expect most people on here would probably say the same and I guess most people who don't turn up probably have no intention of ever turning up.

Of all the things that can go wrong with a punt I think this is the rarest and least hassle. At least I have my money in my pocket and I can book somebody else. Things such as B&N, not providing the expected services, hidden charging for extras, fake pics or just plain being crap are much more common and usually involve you being out of pocket and not having a fun time.

You never know if a punter is a forum member who will write a review or pm others, or someone who is a lone ranger.

Comparing notes and from posts on other forums it would seem we ladies hear as many excuses, phones turned off at time of appointment as some punters report on here. But as Dani says it's up to us to set the standard, if I do what I say I'll do then I cannot help it if someone has to cancel either for genuine reasons or otherwise. Regulars and anyone who asks knows I don't double book, and even if they cannot see me when they want to, they know I will not cancel their appointment for anyone else. I've even said to those who have asked me to change things "You'd not like it if I cancelled your appointment to see someone else". I often tell new clients not to promise they'll be with me, because of the numbers who seem to jinx themselves doing so.

That said there are punters who would never dream of not attending an appointment and are always where they say they will be, no qualms about it. So it's a case of the few, rather than the majority who cannot make it. Some say it's advance bookings that are the worst and to book close to the time but I find I get cancellations "work called me in", "can't make it" even with appointments made at 1 hour or even 30 minutes notice. I even had a couple of guys phoning me when parked, then between car and my place supposedly had work call them in. This behaviour is however mostly limited to (90%) new clients, it's very, very rare a regular will book and cancel, but it can make you a bit wary of anyone new.

I believe that most forum members just wouldn't behave in this way, however I have heard tales of one or two members of punting(not this one yet) forums really messing around with appointments, to the point where they get named, shamed and banned. Real pity.

As Strawberry said it is up to us to make a judgement call and stick to it.  Yes some guys do mess girls around but I find it I can normally tell by the way the conversation is going who is a timewaster and I will ask them to call me when in the car leaving for the booking.  They never do as they normally have called and booked so many girls for a laugh that they cannot remember which one they have to call to confirm.  I have even had a few ring me and say was it you I was supposed to confirm with as they could not remember which one and then did not get why I said yes but your booking is now cancelled.
I rarely have no shows as I guess my profile is quite strict and I can be quite strict on phone calls to and don't suffer fools so if I get the odd one it doesn't matter.
However we don't know who is and who isn't a forum member of anywhere and who will write a bad review so it is not worth double booking or bumping one booking for a longer one as it is our reputation on the line.  Plus if someone did it to me I would be mightily pissed off so would not do it to someone else.
I did get one feedback saying I messed him around but that was because he stood in my street asking my neighbours which flat the escort worked at as he could not follow a simple instruction of it is the block in front of you (only two buildings and he was facing mine) so I cancelled as didn't want the neighbour seeing him come to mine as only three flats in my building and one of them was empty so wouldn't be hard to know which flat he went to.

To me yes we might lose money but messing guys around can mean we lose much more than one long booking as it can lead to losing someone who could be a very good regular.
a girl would not mess a regular around in case she lost him so why mess around someone who may well end up being a loyal regular who pays a lot of money throughout the year?  Madness to do so

No, he's double booking appointments because he knows people will cancel or as often as not to make sure people get there early.

Doing the best job he can? Doing the best job he can 3 days a week with no out of hours cover only 1 issue per meeting an trying to get you out the door as fast as possible. Actually it all sounds very familiar.

No they don't.  What happes is every patient is given a 10 minute slot.  however some patients take much longer.    One person taking longer than expected say an extra ten minutes can have a knock on effect on every other booking.  Imagine having three or four a day like it.  By the end of the day they are going to be running almost an hour late
My last doctors appointment made everyone in the surgery late as I had abnormal chest pains so I had to be looked at by him then put on an ECG then the doctor had to stay with me until paramedics arrived as could not be left alone in case.
I am pretty sure everyone was bitching and moaning and probably saying the doctor had double booked when in fact he hadn't but had a patient he could not leave alone and who could not be moved.

Most patients are in and out but not all of us are. Some have complicated medical conditions that cannot be talked about in 10 minutes let alone have a check up as well.

It is totally different to a prossie keeping you waiting because she decided to try and get some extra cash by squeezing another client in before you knowing that your booking would be knocked back a bit and not giving a shit

I've been in the GP surgery with the 2nd/3rd appointment of the day - and been the 5th guy to go in 30 mins later. That plus due to a former career I have some knowledge of GPs

No, he's double booking appointments because he knows people will cancel or as often as not to make sure people get there early.

You're now talking nonsense just to try and support your weak analogy. This is not how a GPs works. It is not in the interest of the GP to double book patients. He gets paid a wage. It would suit him more to have patients not show up. Less work for the money. Also imagine if all the patients did show up, he'd be there till the following morning.

The reason you may wait is because patients do stay over the ten minutes and do talk about more than one issue. If you think you're late just think how late the GP is going home.

You also didn't specify GPs, you said doctors. To compare a doctor with a prossie is ludicrous.

Just like wgs there are good and bad gps. Their motivation levels and interest in doing a good job is highly variable. Some will take literally moments to come up with a prescription for <insert type of medication here> before sending you on your way with an instruction to come back in a week if the symptoms haven't gone away. Other docs will take the time to perform a more thorough diagnosis of the problem before deciding on the most appropriate course of action. It's the latter who are the ones you generally have to be more patient with because they're harder to get to see and find it harder to keep to a schedule. But I'd much rather wait to see a good gp than get straight in to see a shit one.

You cannot compare a doctor with a prossie.  A GP may be having a bad day and just want everyone in and out but he is not charging you ludicrous amounts of money to do so.  Most GPs are employed by a surgery so get the same pay if they take one minutes or half an hour with each patient.  He wont double book as if he does then he may be stuck there for 14 or 15 hours trying to see everyone.

As for the comment above about having the second booking but being the fifth in that is probably because some emergency appointments have come in that are urgent and need to be seen before you.  After all if you made an appointment a couple of days before another half hour is not going to make a difference but if someone is having breathing difficulties but is unsure if they need to waste an ambulance a doctor will see them immediately to confirm or not.  Same as chest pains a doctor will see someone with left sided chest pains before anyone else in case it is a heart attack and he can start treatment whilst waiting for an ambulance and hopefully prevent a cardiac arrest happening.  It may put you out by 30minutes but it can save a life or it can leave an ambulance free for someone else who really needs it

Being an older geezer and fairly new to this punting lark - only around 3 years - I have never requested less than an hours booking, and yet have still been let down three or four times at least. Admittedly these were all fairly short notice phone bookings and not through any booking system.

I like variety but also enjoy returning to a girl I have enjoyed particularly good... err chemistry with. I was considering the shorter punt more as a taster to see if I liked the girl enough to return as maybe a regular. Anyone here recommend this as a cost effective method?
