Ok so santa's brought me a 3d printer. A beginners model and getting to grips with it. But i have no idea of design software. Could anyone recommend software i can use to design my own designs, not too complicated and not to expensive. I am assuming its going to be cad software the free ones i have seen are too basic and the paid ones are very expensive, what are you guys using? welcome any recommendations. happy new year

+1 for Fusion 360.

It has a more user friendly interface than something like Rhino or Solidworks and as mentioned I think it is free for a year for personal use/hobbyist.

You can save directly as an .stl file which is useful to go straight to you 3D printer.

There is a guy called Lara on YouTube who has loads of great content for Fusion to get you started.
