I think the feeling at the time (from memory) was that many people were quite taken aback at a woman booking a prostitute, but not surprised by it being Lily Allen. If that makes sense?
Clearly it's very unusual for a woman to do so (statistically, compared with the number of men), so I guess anything so unusual (and to do with sex, and in the sexually-repressed UK) is bound to stand out?
I seem to remember her saying at the time what's the big deal and I tend to agree with that.
The thing that interests me, is how many women long to book a WG (or indeed a WM) but never do so?
