I suppose it's for the same reason that women of all sorts lie about their age: they think it makes them sound more attractive. Speaking for myself as an older punter, if a woman says she is 18, I add on a few years, make her 25 and decide she is too young. If, however, she says she is in her 30's I make her about 40, and provided she doesn't look like a tub of lard, may put her in my "hot list", depending.
Lying about age is a sex-industry convention. One just has to adjust for it. (The only exception is women who claim to be in their 60's. By and large, their photos suggest they are telling the truth: apart from one woman who looked as though she had been photographed in a care home.)

It's only natural that they're going to lie a bit. No-one can tell someone's age exactly just by looking, so they knock a few years off knowing they'll get away with it.

Then there's the fact that they all do it, so if you don't lie too, punters will just assume you're older. For instance, no 24 year old escort in her right mind would put her real age on her profile, as everyone reading it knows that "24" is code for "early to mid 30s".

Lopping 10 years off is quite common. IMO it's akin to bait and switch because you've been misled. And if the pics were taken 10 years previously then You've turned up to meet a woman who no longer exists. It's like celebs. Caprice was 29 for around 10 years I believe. When I've had this discussion with prossies before, their excuses are it's to get into AW age searches, hence so many 19yo, 24yo 29yo & 39yo prossies...who are in their 20s, 30s, 40s & 50s respectively.

They lie because they have to lie because we expect them to lie. 35 in real years is 25 in WG years, so if you are looking for a girl of 35 you make your cut off say 28.

Im 49 yrs old, and in my work place have asked customers  to guess my age, reason for this, I work in supermarket, and have to ask customers who are buying alcohol for id, if they look under 25, and sometimes you get customers who are 40 yr old, looking under 25

So when I ask them to guess my age, I get 32-35 most of the time, but sometimes customers guess right, and say 47 yr old

Obviously its an attempt to fool punters into believing they are younger than they are as they think it will result in more punters to under play their age.

Lying about age in endemic in punting, i long ago stopped believing it and go on the WGs condition instead, if i fancy her it might be punt on whatever age they really are as long as an adult.
