Can't understand why Man City are letting him go. I know he's had injury problems this season but he could still do a job for them. I guess if they sign Harry Kane he wouldn't be a bad replacement for him.
I think they are making a mistake letting him go too, even though he is getting on a bit he still has a few years left even to come on as a super sub in a few years time.

Spurs now 4-2 and game over up so Leicester are sunk despite being in the top 4 for longer than any other team this season

Yes a shame for Leicester. Missing out on a top four finish for the 2nd season running on the last day of the season. At least they won the FA Cup which is something to show for a good season

Lille won 2-1 at Angers tonight and won the French league ahead of PSG (and all their money). Nice city Lille, and a nice new stadium. Easy to get to on Eurostar. Only down side to one of my visits there was finding half a green dildo under the bed in our hotel room!

Any idea where the other half is?

Ah, me and my mates spent quite a while discussing this over a few drinks and concluded it was probably stuck inside an orifice of somebody French. One of my mates wanted to take it to reception, but when we saw there was just a young girl behind the desk we persuaded him otherwise. We therefore just wrapped it in tissues and left it in a drawer. Don't know if anyone later came back and claimed it though...

Still can't quite believe that Liverpool clawed their way back to third.😁
Doesn't seem very long ago they were eighth!😮

Sorry for Leicester and Brendan Rogers who I have great respect for.

Yes i'm sure the fans will be happy where they finished given the implosion that happened  earlier in the year.

I knew they had got a few better results recently but was still under the impression their form wasn't that good however looking at their PL results since losing 1-0 at home to Fulham on the 7th March they have played 10 PL games winning 8 including the last 5 and drawing 2

Think I would have gone to reception and demanded to know who's it was!!  :D

Oh and getting back to thread Steve Bruce for Manager of the season. FFS he just got manager of the month! Most boring NUFC team in my lifetime!!

And Villa have a penalty now 2-0 not looking good for Chelsea

That penalty was a fucking disgrace - I can understand a thick-head ref getting conned but what the fuck is the point of VAR if they don't intervene to advise that Vardy grabbed the defender's hand and yanked it into himself before theatrically stumbling? I suppose justice or karma stepped-in and Spurs cantered to a win and the weasly runt can now look forward to cheating on Thursdays next season.

I am really digging the Jose Fonte story. He was playing at Southampton in League One at age 28 and from there went on to play in Premiership, win Euro 2016 with Portugal and now the French league.

A friend of mine is adamant that the reason why Alan Pardew got sacked as Southampton manager was that he flirted with Jose Fonte's wife at the Southampton FC Christmas party then followed up by sending her some saucy text messages! Fonte obviously spoke up about it and they decided to chuck Pardew rather than Fonte. It seems one of those stories that my mate heard from his builders-hairdressers-dogs-auntie sort of thing but he is convinced it is true and if it is then it's bloody hilarious.

I'm a bit unsure who I want to win the Championship playoffs. Brentfords is a nice away day but I reckon if they get promoted there will be loads of Brentford fans suddenly coming out of the woodwork claiming they have been die hard fans all their life. I like Swansea but kind of don't think they should be in the English league. Hmm better duck out of here as may have pissed a load of people off but that's my view.

I would like to see Brentford win it, they beat Swansea in the play off semi finals last season so no reason why they cant do it again.

Blackpool to win the League 1 final and Morecambe to win the League 2 Final

Hopefully all three finals will be good

Unlike in the Premier League the title has been won and not bought, just like the Champions League will have been bought no matter who wins it on Saturday.

I would like to see Brentford win it simply because they have lost four play off finals in the past ( including last year's final ) and they have never been in the Premier league  where as Swansea have.

So just the Europa final tomorrow night then the CL final on Saturday, whose going to win them  :unknown:

Just checked out Villareal's position in La Liga and they are only 7th so presumably haven't had a great season though their recent form isn't too bad however Man Utd have got their shit together as the season has progressed.
My prediction is Man Utd to win 2-1 in 90 minutes

For the CL final I had been thinking that Chelsea were in a good vein of form and could nick it by the odd goal however a few recent results have shown they are perhaps running out of steam and their previously tight defence has shown a few cracks plus not sure if Mendy will be back and fully fit
My prediction is Man City to win 2-0 in 90 minutes

What's the situation with TV? BT have previously aired the finals involving English clubs on some sort of free-to-air platform, I vaguely recall it was YouTube last time?

Both showing as being on BT sport 1 though I do recall it previously also being watchable somewhere else, a few years ago they used to have BT Showcase on Freeview and I think they showed the finals on there but that channel isn't available anymore.
I do think it may have been available last year through streaming it via a bookmakers website but the pictures were a couple of minutes behind the live action, presumably buffering but no good if you're trying to gauge how the game is going to bet in play or cash out etc.

No doubt I will listen to it on the radio as usual

Offline Blackpool Rock

Just had a look and you can watch both on the BT website live stream, whether it will be live or buffer i'll wait and see by listening to the radio at the same time

The YouTube broadcast is in 4K UHD. Seems to be the simplest way and doesn't involve farting about with BT app or website. Even the shittiest of smart TVs have you tube built in.

Well they have fired their first torpedo, and are 1-0 up at half-time.

Penalty shoot out. All 20 outfield players score. David de Gea misses his effort, Villarreal beat Manchester United to win the Europa League!

Fucking hell!! That was shit. Even shitter than the Monaco Grand Prix. Three fucking efforts on goal in 2hrs is diabolical. Well at least Southgate now knows he has to launch Greenwood and Rashford when he culls his provisional squad, pair of them are knackered shells of players. As for United they need Kane, Grealish and Sancho just to be okay-ish next term.

Apart from one decent run in the first half agree about Rashford. Thought Greenwood looked pacey and dangerous all match but to be fair I wasnt concentrating on it 100%.

I'd say Foden Kane and Sancho to start for England. Rashford /Sterling out of form and Greenwood a bit inconsistent and unproven for England. I cant see Grealish starting either as missed a lot of football.

After hours of saying how rubbish Villarreal and Emery was that was some good comeuppance. Great for the small side and city to win a major European trophy, Man Utd wouldn't really have cared.

That's now 8 consecutive Spanish final wins vs. English teams (and 18 consecutive final wins vs. foreign opposition). Domination you have to say - even more impressive given they have been at a financial disadvantage all of that time.

They may not have been too bothered about the EUROPA 10 years ago but this was their chance to win some silverware in the last 4 years so i'm sure it will actually hurt

What was looking like an OK season with progress made to finish 2nd behind City (Which is no disgrace) and win the Europa now looks a bit tarnished losing the final.

Was great to watch 90% of the Utd team either refusing to have the losers medal, sorry runner up medal put round their neck and taking it in their hand or taking it straight off, not very sportsman like that is it

Yeah most losing players have always taken their medals off as soon as it goes on nothing new. Bruno Fernandes refused to have the medal put around his neck though and just took it in hand.

Unsurprisingly the older players (Matic, Cavani and Mata) were happy for it be put on and left on. Nothing out of the ordinary
