It's interesting that the top goalscorers in the premier League are playing for teams that have struggled to get into the top four.
You have to go down to eighth place before seeing a Man City player, yet as a team, they've scored far more goals.
That begs the question whether so called strikers are as valuable a commodity as they think they are.
How many times have we seen the likes of Kane and Salah frustratingly go for a shot at a ridiculous angle when team mates have been in much better positions to score.
Team results should always take precedence over individual scoring records.
You make some good points but what's the reason for this, personally I always think that a good player can look great in a mediocre team as they will outshine the others whereas a good player in a great team surrounded by world class players will only look good or even mediocre.
There is of course the argument that some players will raise their game when playing with great players but on the other hand their talents may just get watered down.

Looking at the teams i'd say Man City haven't had an out and out forward banging in the goals but have better all round strength in depth and have been able to rely on some world class midfielders to also get a reasonable amount of goals.
Man City midfielders names are perhaps even more notable than their forwards this season, Ilkay Gundogan; Kevin De Bruyne (world class for a few years now); Bernardo Silva; Rodrigo; Fernandinho; Phil Foden (Has a great potential to be the next Scholes; Lampard or Gerrard)
Liverpool have had a lot of high profile injuries and Jordan Henderson was quite a big loss to their midfield distributing the right ball to the forwards, Salah has long been regarded as being quite a selfish player in that he goes for goal himself rather than passing to a team mate who may have a better opportunity. Firmino has got a few goals recently but has never been as prolific as Salah or Mane though many say he plays a slightly more holding role rather than being the out and out striker, Mane who will run all day long and put the effort in has seemed a bit out of sorts this season and appears to have missed a hat full of chances that he's normally score.
Liverpool's best play maker this season is possibly their defender Trent Alexander Arnold which perhaps says something about their lack of strength in depth albeit with a lot of long term injuries
Spurs basically have Kane and Son as their stand out forwards, Bale was world class and still able to produce the goods but hasn't had much game time, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn have poor records compared to Kane and Son who as i've said before do seem to have a great partnership
So at Liverpool given the more mediocre squad other players will be looking to get the ball to Salah and Mane while at Spurs other players will be looking to get the ball to Kane and Son therefore by definition those players are getting so many more opportunities to shine and float to the top of the golden boot list
Counter that with Man City who have more class in more positions and world class midfielders like Kevin De Bruyne or Phil Foden and their thoughts are partly about taking the chance themselves but when they do distribute it to a forward there are also more class forwards to choose from at Man City.
I'm also guessing but with more class forwards to pick from the man City forwards will have on average played less minutes than Salah; Mane; Kane and Son who would naturally be on the team sheet if fully fit
Put Salah and / or Kane into the Man City squad getting less game time and surrounded by more competition and does their 22 goals this season become 12 or 15
