CommsWhen I called her she picked up quite quickly and sounded delightful over the phone- cheery, energetic and very eager for a meet. We'd arranged for 11pm (late I know) and on my way I realised I'd be a few minutes late. I called again to inform her and she told me that was fine, not a problem at all...
When I reached the address she gave (a gated block of flats very near Kingston station) I gave a ring which wasn't answered. As it was late and dark, I didn't mind hanging around by the entrance, though during the day I would have certainly felt very awkward and exposed. A few minutes later I dropped her a text: 'I'm here'. The time was now 11.05pm.
A few minutes went by.
Radio silence.
I called again unsuccessfully, followed by another text. I waited for 10minutes before I felt that my waiting was hopeless.. It didn't seem like she'd double-booked since I'd just been on the phone to her 15-20minutes prior. Knowing my mission would be hopeless, I called Erika (
External Link/Members Only) who happened to be free for a meet. I quickly left the flats and made my way there (review to come), not at all guilty in case Naomi called...
The follow-upThinking that my '??' text would never be answered, I deleted Naomi's number off my phone. Lo and behold, I received a message from her the next day; 'sorry darling just saw this'. Hahaha pathetic! I asked her what happened and she fell asleep.
I don't really need to add anything further. Had she been aloof or tired sounding on the phone, I would probably have preemptively expected her to waste my time. But to fall asleep within 10 minutes of confirming a meet is pretty ridiculous.
To conclude: be wary lads. I may have just been unlucky but if you're considering a meet, be ready for no meet/meat...
