I hope if its proved these people did this they get seriously done, a life sentence should be mandatory in my view. I also hope none of us would want to meet a woman who is not a WG through her own free choice, I certainly don't want to. I punt for fun, NOT to punt with a woman forced.
These cases must always be looked at on a case by case basis in my view, a punter in many cases isn't going to know a WGs personal circumstances, I don't know any WGs personal circumstances as I have no way of knowing as fact. I would need to see the actual evidence in each case. This is an issue where generalising doesn't work for me. I advise any punters who think a woman may of been forced or is being forced to contact Crimestoppers and/or the police anonymously, do not get dragged in to what could be a living nightmare by giving your real name etc unless you are certain you have no problem doing so. But do contact them don't just leave it. Be careful what you admit to on here is also my advice.
It is the case that under Harriet Harmans coercion law a punter who has punted with a coerced/forced woman is in theory guilty automatically as its a strict liability offence with them having to prove he wasn't aware, no idea how he would do that. In my case if I thought a woman was being forced and/or been trafficked I would contact both anonymously ringing them from a phone box not my own phone.
As I see it through experience there are 2 types of pimps, 1 who may traffic and force women to be WGs, these are 100% evil scum and if caught and convicted they are who the mandatory life sentence should be for. Then there are the very many pimps, that's all party pimps, and brothel pimps who offer WGs premises to work out of and get their punters. And agency pimps though some don't also provide the WGs premises to work out of. Many WGs including Brits choose to work for such pimps for various reasons. Look at London agencies and brothels like HOD for that, look at some agencies in the NE for Brits working for pimps. And in some areas these pimps have been allowed to operate by the police for many years. If the police allow them to operate, why, and do they think these woman are being forced, if they do they aren't doing their job which is to enforce the law and rescue such women. Whats likely here in my experience is most of these WGs are WGs through free choice and have agreed a set cut too give the pimp in exchange for the premises to work out of, a WGs biggest expense by far, and they get their punters laid on by the pimp. Many WGs in London at least couldn't possibly afford to rent a premises or supply the likely references needed, so they work for a pimp at least initially. But I know with some EE WGs they only want to come here say 6 weeks at a time and then go back home for some weeks, not worth it to them to rent a premises. So paying a pimp an agreed cut works for them, for the moment. And if they are from a poor EE country they may still be making a lot more money than they could make at home.
I would prefer no pimps but that isn't going to happen anytime soon in reality not least because many police allow them to operate. Its for punters to use best judgement in my book. What a WG charges I don't see as a certain indicator of anything dodgy going on, it could be an indicator in some cases but once again needs to be viewed on a case by case basis.
Not up to me of course but on UKP I wouldn't like to see a witch hunt by some posting up old reviews where its said the reviewer should of called the police. I hope most of us review in good faith going on what we think at the time, the fact things may of been different but we weren't aware of that at the time shouldn't mean instant witch hunt. Punting is by its nature a secretive pastime, punters aren't privy to many things and shouldn't be blamed for what may be revealed at a future time about the WG. The exclusion to that is any "punter" who posted he was aware but didn't care, these low life behaviour in my book.
