Got swabbed at work yesterday, then got the call this morning from Occupational Health to tell me that I tested positive for Corona, so straight off the premises and home. Here comes a week of catching up on the laundry, giving the laminate a really good clean, and watching some of the the stuff that's clogging up the Sky box. Looks like the cartons of Long Life milk are going to get used!

Meanwhile, here's a cover of the Blue Oyster Cult classic, that's rather easy on the eye:

Wishing you well in your recovery.

Good song choice  :hi:

Offline King Nuts

Hope you get through this OK. Chin up.

And yes, a good choice of song. I'd never heard of them. Appealingly saucy looking too.

I hope that you kick the shit out of this foul plague. Good luck and a speedy recovery.  :hi:

Blimey MM!

Sorry to hear this. Best of luck with the 'version' of Covid you have, and wishing you a swift recovery. May I ask if you have any symptoms yet?

And without telling us anything meaningful which might expose you in other ways, do you know where you picked it up? And have you told the authorities yet of your known recent contacts?

Hoping you remain well enough to carry on logging on here and keeping us updated on your progress.

So sorry to hear your news.

Fingers crossed it passes with minimal discomfort.

Another thousand miles til your off-ramp yet (and a few reviews).

How do you feel now?

Offline MilleMiglia

To the questions; feeling fine at present, and the only symptoms have been a very occasional sneeze, which I think was unrelated. Had the contact and tracing talk earlier this afternoon and, to be honest, pretty unsure how I picked it up, as I'm masked at work (literally as soon as I walk through the door), live alone, and only make the odd foray out for food, and off peak at that, in order to avoid queuing.

Thanks for the best wishes guys.

Think you have just answered your own question!

A couple of months ago, the hospital would have been the best bet. Things have tightened up a lot since, so I'll be interested to see what the official verdict is, assuming there is one.

I suppose you'll never know how you got it. Maybe in a shop? I've not been in one since early April, because its safer to isolate as much as possible.

I've got my second attempt at an antibody test tomorrow.........on the first one last week she couldn't get any blood out of me.
No surprise - when I had my appendix out it took one girl twelve attempts before she could hit a vein........the beggars collapse when they see a needle.

I used to be very much like that which contributed to a nice phobia after one very horrendous experience involving a GP with bent needle.

Have picked up some tips over the years, a little like learning to swallow the pill - something had to do when it became important.

Masks are not always protective. Many people are wearing them nowadays thinking that they are like ultra-thick condoms that provide 100% protection. But we all know that isn't the case and like everything, nothing is 100% safe.

The really odd thing about this virus is that the variable symptoms that people experience are astonishing. It could be anything from no symptoms to death. I find that very peculiar, as I don't recall any virus that would have such variables.

Anyhow, in the Government we must trust. :unknown:

Get well soon! Key thing especially if you have got bad symptoms is try to be mobile.

The virus wants you to stay in place for long periods so it can do damage to you.

There are also some breathing exercises you can do to help like this one;

Again, thanks for the good wishes. Very little to report here - I've got another test on Monday and, so far, little in the way of symptoms. other than the odd sneeze, which is probably unrelated anyway. On the plus side, I've had a couple of very good nights sleep, which is a rarity for me. Not enjoying being confined to quarters, so to speak, and can only imagine how the elderly, and others who've been restricted for months on end, must feel.

Surface contamination transfer?  If you're in a hospital then the airborne aspect should be ruled out.  Has there been a cluster?

Thanks for all you're doing there and again best wishes.

Drowsiness could be reduced oxygenation... presume you've not noted any breathlessness.  I know it's a little hysterical but given the cases they've been admitting with crazy low levels mention it to your doctors...

Stay safe.

If had to hazard a guess I'd say the chemicals in the hair removal cream restrict the fast-replenishing cells (such has hair follicles) so putting it near the testes is an issue because might cause infertility (but that's just a stab in the dark)

I used to use it there but not anymore...I got carried away once and decided to used it remove hair from my bumhole (for a good rimming)... overzealous use of cream saw some accidentally go up the proverbial and I had this searing pain for a good 5/6mins...

I now shave exclusively

Depilatory creams usually contain a salt of Mercaptoacetic acid (aka Thioglycolic acid), most often the ammonium salt. Same active ingredient as hair perms, just a higher concentration.
The chemical has an -SH thiol moiety which in solution breaks down the -S-S- disulphide bridges in the amino acid Cystine which forms a large part of the hair protein, Keratin - and acts as a kind of structural scaffold. If the disulphide bridges are broken, the Keratin breaks up and dissolves.
Problem with it is, the chemical stinks and is an irritant to the skin

I used the Veet for men once and it wasn't pleasant, so a girlfriend suggested I try hers.

Basically I start from the arse, public area then do the balls last. By then, wait 7 to 10 mins.

Wash it off with warm water and I've never had any problems. Been doing it for years now.
