I'm a bit surprised Joan Collins hasn't had a mention here yet. Although she was often regarded as the poor mans Elizabeth Taylor. Still a good looking woman with plenty sex appeal, and she managed to maintain her looks for a surprisingly long time.

I grabbed these images fairly randomly from a google search (avoiding the huge number of recent photo's which are of less interest to us), and I'm pretty sure some of them stretch out before and after the 60's and 70's period, but not totally sure which ones.

Watched The Family Way on Talking Pictures recently starring Hayley Mills

Good film starring a youthful Hewel Bennett and Barry Foster.

She married the film's director, despite their 33 year age gap.

Good call. Rock trainspotter fact – P.P. Arnold's 1960s backing band became The Nice, who were a wonderful pioneering band who paved the way for prog rock.

After Keith Emerson (RIP) went off to form ELP I was a big fan of that band, too, but I think more of The Nice's material still sounds good today.

You're right in that The Nice certainly did sound like a proto-ELP, especially on the likes of 'America'.  TBH, if I didn't know and you told me it was ELP I'd believe you.

I can't for the life of me 'get' prog ie. ELP, Camel, Yes etc. and I have no problem with Pink Floyd (or even unfashionable 80s era Yes).  I suppose you really had to be there at the time and associate those LPs with drugs smoked and blow jobs obtained.

not the greatest looking girl but the epitome of a sexy voice (IMHO) and anyone who listened to John Peel would have heard

Bridget St John

Never felt so sorry for someone on stage as when I went to a Groundhogs concert at Newcastle City Hall in the early 70s and the audience of tanked-up heavy rock fans would not tolerate Bridget St John as the support act.

She struggled through two or three quiet songs with her acoustic guitar then gave up in the face of repeated booing and shouts of: "Just shut up and show us yer tits, pet!"

The poor girl got up and marched into the wings with her face burning red.

Whoever booked her for that tour should have been fired.

Prog. Rock. Some of this stuff was labelled 'Symphonic Rock', which in a way, it was.

Long pieces, not all of it 'catchy' or memorable, but taken as a whole, a kind of musical journey which some find satisfying. A beginning, a middle and an end, with variations along the way and occasional 'highlights' along the way, and perhaps a shattering crescendo at the end.

I guess you could say in terms of the Rock/Pop genre that's pompous or pretentious, but a lot of people liked it.

Like me  :P. One of my fave bands are Yes, one of my fave albums is Tales From Topographic Oceans. Largely ridiculed, it worked for me. I was never on drugs (and not a blowjob in sight), I'd perhaps imbibed a pint or two, but it hit an emotional spot for me. It still does. Perhaps that's because it made a big impression in my formative years, but then that's always the case with music, any music, for most people.

For the record, I also liked (and like) The Beatles, Led Zep, some Soul, Motown, 10cc, Average White Band, Buddy Rich, to name but a very few.

She wasn't born until 1961 and didn't appear on page 3 until the 80's so perhaps a little too young to be included in this category.  A good shout non the less. I'd forgotten all about her

Susan Shaw was Susan George's body double in Straw Dogs, but what an awful photo, looks like it should be in a book about Jack the Ripper's victims.

No, she was too elusive for me, but if you check the SE board you'll find that some of our members did.

Also appeared naked in a Queen video in 1978, along with a flock of other dolly birds on bicycles - and wearing pants, in the artwork for the single!

I see that Margaret Nolan has passed away, very cute in her day.

Did some nudie shoots and a couple of shorts under the name of Vicky Kennedy before breaking into acting and reclaiming her real handle. Can't post links from here but I'm sure those of you who are interested will find them easily enough.
