I am a wee bit confused, moved from 4 to 3, all four chief medical officers for the UK nations agreed, but all four nations are at different stages of reopening, how does that work?

Does it really mean anything?

Level 3 allows "Gradual relaxing of restrictions and social distancing measures". The government have been doing that for weeks already.

You would not be suggesting that the government is trying to cover up their shambolic handing of the pandemic by spinning a non-news story as good news, are you?

Wasn't there a bit of friction a few weeks back when the Govt were relaxing restrictions and tried to put pressure on to get the level downgraded to 3 but the people in charge told them to do one  :unknown:

These levels really do not mean anything

the virus is still out there,  so we still need to be careful, wash hands,  social distancing, etc

All in all its still good news, lets hope punting can resume soon, Im hoping Aug/Sep for a return to normal (punting) business.

It's simply a precursor to them reducing the social distancing from 2 metres to 1 asap - you could see it coming a mile off (no pun intended) and to be fair the economy obviously needs it.

I hope you are correct, personal I can see it being Oct/Nov, but I may being pessimistic.

You've hit the nail on the head. The Government think we're stupid but you can see this a mile away - Even with Cummings bad eyesight  :D

I know of 2 parlours in the NW whose websites indicate they are opening up on the 4th July, I expect others near them to also give the green light as otherwise they are losing out on business

Some of the agencies in the Northeast are open now, I don’t know what precautions they are taking about Covid-19.
I will not be visiting soon.

Seems weird that there may be a higher risk to your life of kissing a girl than doing Bareback  :scare:

Why do I get the feeling DFK will become an expensive extra, nothing to do with health more to do with money making opportunities by SP.

But I thought it to be an English wall - designed to keep the Jocks out   ;)

He certainly isn't willing to listen to the "best and biggest" wall builders...
...and I suppose the Italians' pathological aversion to taxation may strike a comradely tone with him.  And certainly grabbing women seems to be a common ground.

I have investments in a retail window graphics company that has just switched production from 2 mtrs to 1mtr so I’m more than happy with the change

Does anyone else get the impression that Ms Sturgeon just wants to do everything different to England just for the sake of it?
Does her extra cautious approach have any repercussions for the Scottish economy directly, or does it have to be paid for from the UK purse?

Boris will compromise at 1.5m.

Offline Blackpool Rock

Boris will compromise at 1.5m.
That's probably the worst scenario where they reduce it to 1.5m and then down to 1m a month later as it just means a whole load more time and investment re-configuring everything for business.

You'd have to be seriously incompetent to do it like that so that's probably what they will do

 :D Let's hope not.

The media are reporting this will be announced in days. As I posted elsewhere the 2 metres (six foot) was originally based on travel of coughs sneezes which are of less importance with Covid because anyone with such symptoms should not be in public anyway? That said if circumstances mean 2 metres (or more) is still practically/economically viable then stick with it. It needs a common sense flexible approach not a rigid exact distance one and as I also posted there are many other variables to take into account most notably time spent and whether indoors/outdoors?

Make no mistake though once you enter that 1 metre zone the increase rises exponentially the closer you get.
