I have just changed my mobile from another provider to Sky, and sites like this are blocked,

It s normally easy to turn off but with SKY you have to give them a credit card number then they charge a pound then immediately refund it, however I don't actually possess a credit card

Anyone know a work around, when I did it before I did have a card but now they are all paid off they have been shredded.

Whole multi-page thread on it here on a Sky forum. Lots of people in same boat and pissed off about it. From a quick flip through it doesn't look promising:

They haven't been removed. You can unhide them in the settings. Unless you are a known pervert to them, in which case, they may have altered your skybox to have them permanently blocked just for you.  :P :D

They're hidden on my sky q box but easy to unhide through the settings toggle.

I used to have huge credit card debts spread across seven cards and bouncing to a new one every time the interest-free period ran out.

Then I had the discipline to pay them all off. It took about five years. I went a long time without spending a single cent on a card, but then I reckoned that if had just one and paid it off every month no matter what, that would not start the whole process again.

I've had that one card for five years now and I have not lapsed. I needed one to avoid being charged transaction fees abroad because I'm out of the country a lot. You need one for another reason... you just have trust yourself.

1. Get the Revolut App for your mobile phone - highly recommended and all i use now for online/risky purchases. This will give you a virtual pay as you go credit card number.

2. Use opera turbo. This uses Opera's Proxy in order to reduce web page sizes. But as a result it gets around all blocking

3. Use Puffin Browser - I haven't use this on my Android phone, but have on my PC and this gets around blocking as it uses its own proxy similar to Opera.

Tesco, O2 and others also have the Adult Filter on at registration.  If you can't do the CC thing then they allowed unlocking at stores on presentation of proof of age.

I'm with Plus Net and although they've been excellent in every other regard trying to get them to take the parental lock off was like pulling teeth!  :dash: :dash: :dash:

But a VPN is overkill when Opera Turbo does the same thing and a whole lot more. And I think VPNs are banned here anyway.

Definitely are as I enabled the VP.N on Opera and I got the Trolls warning.
