Don't know if he's already been mentioned on this thread, but Richard Ayoade, for me, is the most supercilious, irritating and unfunny twat in the history of twats.

Is he a comedian?
That leftie twat Nish Kumar is utterly humourless at least his shit fest of a show has been cancelled.

He basically seems to be trying to eke out Moss from the IT Crowd as far as he can e.g. those annoying bank ads.

I much preferred him as Ned Smanks in Nathan Barley.

Ayoade is Nathan Barely albeit with self-awareness and intelligence. I thought his reboot of Crystal Maze was shit and I've zero interest in travelogs so thought Travelling Man or whatever it's called is shit by default, but I thought his film Submarine was OK, but not as good as daft cunts who do film lists tell you.

Even the game shows are shit and hosted by charmless comedians. Katharine Ryan? Tom Allen? Fair enough decades ago the game shows were shit, but I used to watch anything with Bob Monkhouse on just because he had excellent timing. I honestly thought in the 00s TV was going to get better and what happens the same old rehashed shit becomes the most popular TV - BGT is just Opportunity Knocks, Blind Date revivals with different names, as mentioned Mrs Brown Boys less funny than are you being served? That said drama has generally improved, but everything else got worse especially "factual" were they are either scripted or talk down to the audience - I don't need a recap every ten minutes or shows which drag out a 15 minute programme to an hour - Undateables, Gogglebox, Kitchen Nightmares, Come Dine With Me - though I do like the latter two.

Love them and also Four in a Bed.  I'll even watch quiz shows if there's a random civvy on with big knockers.
First Dates is great for sociological observation and being allowed to comment on women in front of the OH.

I find I'm the same - love chancing across a big-titted civvy on TV and can mention it to Mrs Fred.

I know he had cult status as part of the Mighty Boosh but I remember seeing Noel Fielding at the Apollo on Saturday night TV and he just rambled on with the most unfunny, random shit for 10 minutes.
Felt like 3 hours.
I think the audience must have been laughing out of embarrassment

Tim Minchin - I think he is a talented musician and composer, but something about him is annoying. Maybe his ginger hippie meets supply teacher look or his effeminate voice. I enjoyed his stuff when he started, but I think he has disappeared up his own arse since.

Alan Davies - I liked his sitcom about 20 years ago and his documentary about his school life was good, but I've no idea how he made it as a stand up unless it was through persistence. I saw one of his early stand ups on VHS, banal observations - deeply unfunny. QI I don't like anyway and I think he was just put there for Stephen Fry to take the piss out of.

I used to watch him in "Never mind the buzzcocks", and while I didn't find him funny, thought he was personable enough.
He's in the new version, hosted by Greg Davies, who I normally find very funny, but in this he's lost.
Worst of all, though, is Daisy May Cooper, from This Country. In the two episodes I watched, she seemed to spend the entire episodes pissing herself laughing uncontrollably at every inanity muttered by other contestants on the pop quiz.

The fact they rebooted the show is an indication of how bad comedy is at the moment.

I had never heard of her until I saw her on taskmaster. I thought they had dragged her off the street.  Not only unfunny but the most annoying twat I have ever seen on telly. After half an episode i didnt watch any more of the series because of her. Also who finds miranda hart funny?? The posh giant has never uttered a single funny line as far as I can tell

I would still shag both of them though. I think Nina Conti is a crap ventriloquist and about as funny as filling in a tax return, but she gets away with it because she is pretty. Funniest female stand up comedian I have seen on TV is Joan Rivers.

Apart from her height, nothing remotely amusing at all. Another really tall comedienne Judy Gold (6'3"), an amazon without talent. Perhaps tall birds and comedy don't really go together!

Seemed quite innocuous to me as well, mild ribald comedy and mainly regional/old people appeal.

I half-agree. I saw The Harry Hill Show on Channel 4 in the late 90s and thought it was shit and immature; I thought TV Burp was good in places, laughed like a drain at one of his stand up DVDs. Hit and miss for me.

Same here saw him live a couple of times very funny although I understand why some wouldn't like his delivery.
Sadly caught the first few minutes of Josh Widdecombe and another of those many panel show type comedians (the disabled one) spending the night at London Zoo yesterday.
They just aren't funny without their scripts and canned audience laughter.

Most of these travel\event\gameshows are dull no matter who they have on. Travel Man I know a lot of people like, but I find it boring; pretty much just treading the same ground Palin or Billy did decades ago. The gameshows are some of the worst I've seen why bring back The Weakest Link with Romesh Ranganathan?

Yeah I came on here to post the same thing but you got there before me!

Alex Horne I think hes called (the guy with the hands) is completely unfunny. The first episode was locked overnight in Alton Towers with Roisin Connity and the 2nd was Natural History Museum with Aisling Bea (defo would).

The show itself is pretty rubbish but find the concept interesting.

He is very popular for some odd reason.  He has very dry humour and I actually did enjoy Travel Man as he had some really good guests like Jon Hamm.

Not sure if he’s been mentioned on here but I really don’t find anything remotely funny about Ross Noble other than his comical hair.

Typical conversation in the pub:
"Excuse me can I get to the bar?"

Richard Ayoade is sort of the hipster's hipster. I'm sure the irony wasn't wasted on him or his friend Julian Barrett that he appeared in Nathan Barley. I don't find him funny, but I thought his film Submarine was OK, as I say Travel Man I find boring, but I find almost all travelogues boring; his reboot of the Crystal Maze was unnecessary and it's a chore to sit through. What next Treasure Hunt, Challenge Anneka? Some things are best left in the 90s.

Ross Noble don't find him funny, never have, but I do respect that most of his stand up is improvised on the spot.

He's not funny if you meet him either.
Funniest act i've seen "lately" is Dara Ó Briain, really funny even if I don't agree with some of his views.
A lot of his act is on the hoof which takes real comic skills and confidence.

I've seen Ross Noble live twice, some pant-wettingly funny moments in the routine, it is as he is billed "waffle".  A lot of it is down to the shambolic delivery though and I'd not sit through one of his travel programmes.

Graham Fellows as 'Brian Appleton' also brilliant live, again he just goes off on mad tangents and the character of the failed rock mogul as bitter provincial media studies lecturer was carried off so well.  A pity it never advanced beyond Radio 4, definitely could have been an Alan Partridge type hit series.

Joe Lycett is one comedian who I'm really conflicted about. On the one hand he's irritatingly camp, uber woke and desperately unfunny. On the other hand he does some absolutely blinding work exposing the bullshit corporations and people in power pull over ordinary folk.

I think the huge difference is Mark Thomas' stand up is basically his politics, Joe Lycett presents crap TV programs. I don't agree with everything Mark Thomas says or does, but I find him occasionally very funny and criminally underrated, especially given how successful his contemporaries like Jack Dee have been.

Mark Thomas made some quite good TV in the 1990s and his stand up delivery was also spot on, even if you don't agree with his lefty agenda his delivery is quite amusing.  I once saw him live and he was very good at dealing with idiotic hecklers.

Chris Morris said that his TV comedy was largely derived from being nasty to receptionists though.

100% agree on Romesh. Seems to be appearing on tv nearly every time you switch it on. Also recently on "The weakest link" as presenter. Also add Jack Whitehall to the list.
